ok it's aircraft disengagement time. There's a lander on the ground and some fighters overhead. The lander wants to shoot flak at the fighters as they pass within it's weapons arc, but it also wants to take off and disengage itself. Can it do both? |

No, it has to stay on the ground to get its AA shots in the end phase. |

hmm interesting. I see people playing at tournaments where they take turns removing aircraft - and indeed the order they do so worked out carefully so that the least flak is attracted from landed landers? They must be playing it wrong. |

A/c do not get an AA shot against enemy A/c passing through their arc of fire; that only occurs where enemy A/c stop in arc of fire which does not happen during disengagement. So as others have said, either the transport stays landed and gains the 'ground' AA shot, or it disengages and behaves like any other a/c. Consequently, where there are any transports landed on the battlefield it might be worth disengaging in two steps;
Indeed this might be worth adding to the FAQ list. |
