Hmm... interesting... I never had a thought about it. That raises some interesting uses... hmm..

:)

The landed air-transport becomes a ground unit for all purposes, so it can use its AA against any enemy A/c that passes through it's arc of fire just like any other ground unit.

It has also been discussed and agreed that flying A/c can use their AA against enemy A/c that *end* their approach move within range and arc of fire.

Well, it sounds like it should. In reality the AA on aircraft tend to be short range and/or limited to a firing arc so when it comes to practical use, they aren't good at being movile AA platforms. Most of the "gamey" uses are not worth the price you pay to implement them.

For example, what are the chances that landing a Thunderhawk right in front of an enemy aircraft formation so you can get the disengage flak shots is going to be 1) in a spot that's otherwise useful to place the Thawk, not only this turn but next as it stays on the ground, and 2) not in a spot that's terribly vulnerable for the Thawk when it stays on board?

lol

I agree it would be very difficult to place the landed aircraft in such a position that one can usefully use the AA, but it can happen.

I do in fact have an idea of such a use, but will not mention it here before implementing it in one of my games O0

And as a T'hawk is not fearless it's rather easy to break and auto-destroy as it can't move 15cms from the enemy that just broke it!
