Hi All

Assuming a Warlord is attacking another WE.

The warlord has 16 AT shots + 1 TK(D3) shot.

How would one work this since it is of course preferable to shoot away the void shields using the normal AT shots and then use the TK weapon to blast the hull.

Is it acceptable to shoot with the AT shots first, (hopefully) taking down the void shields and then the TK weapon on the hull?

You allocate MW (and thus TK) hits after the regular hits are allocated and saved for.

To expand a bit on what Dave said, there are basically 2 rounds of hit allocation. Normal AP and AT hits are allocated and resolved. Then all MW hits are allocated and resolved (starting over front to back as normal).

is this the same for hits from lance weapons too? it's how we play it in our group, but is this the 'official' way?

There's never been an official way for allocating Lance, or Ignore Cover. We'd probably play Lance as a separate allocation phase between regular and MW (don't think it's ever come up though). For Ignore Cover we try to maximize the hits on things in cover where possible (ie no allocating IC to things out of cover when there are other things in cover that they could go on instead).

Officially Lance, Ignore Cover etc are allocated with normal hits and it's up to the defender to place them, so Disrupt hits tend to hit grots, Ignore Cover hit the troops out of cover etc.

However, a lot of people play a "Gentlemen's Convention" that hits should be allocated in such a way as to make use of their special abilities wherever possible, so apply the lance hits on guys with reinforced armour etc, as long as that is possible. It's only a convention though, and not the official rule, but it's much fairer.

yeah it's 12, 4 from the gatling cannon, 8 from the TLDs

As others said, the "special" hits are allocated as part of the appropriate round, i.e. AP and AT hits with special abilities in the first round, MW hits with special abilities in the MW round. Defender allocates the hits within the limits of the rules (closest first, in range, LOS), so the defender directs where the special ability hits go.
