2 Dominatrix
3 Hive Tyrants
3 Trygon
6 Exocrine
6 Zoanthropes
6 Biovore
1 Heirodule
6 Carnifex
3 Haruspex
3 Malefactor
3 Dactylis
1 Harridan
15 Lictor stands
15 Gargoyle stands
15 Tyranid Warrior stands
15 Genestealer stands
15 Hormagaunt stands
28 Termagant stands

Having never played with or against Tyranids all advice/experiences/pitfalls are appreciated.

What should I be on the lookout for (anything I MUST have that isn't in this set?)
What should I look to paint first (ie what's most likely to be used often)
Also, what's the deal with there being two lists - EA and EA Uk? Which should I base the army on (I'm in Australia and have already moved to enquire which is used most here, though that doesn't solve the fact I don't know why there are two sets of army lists nor what their differences are)?

All help appreciated, I know NOTHING of Tyranids and this lot was a steal but don't know if I can make an army out of it yet
S.

I'm no Tyranid player, but I can answer the Question about lists. (We really out to have a sticky about that, it comes up alot)

Since GW has stopped supporting EA, it has fragmented somewhat along lines that include language and playing environment. The French have EpicFR, and maintain a healthy French-speaking community. Not being a French speaker, this is about all I can tell you about Epic FR. The British have a storng tournament scene under the label of EpicUK. Their lists are developed in a closed environment by the EUK board, and then are released for use in EUK-sponsored tournaments. They have a tendancy to have fewer options than NetEA lists, mostly in order to ease balancing and development times.

The third, and most international, segment of the Epic community is NetEA. it is a community driven effort that includes list development and writing and printing of fan supplements, among other efforts. Lists are developed by an Army Champion with testing and input from members of TacComs, and tend to have longer development times than EUK, but have more variety in list construction.

There has been no real change to the Epic ruleset in any of these groups from the 2008 errata that is the downlaodable rulebook on GW's website, AFAIK . I personally use lists from both NetEA and EpicUK, as well as using some lists straight from the GW publications because those are the ones I'm familiar with.

It looks like you have just about 1 of everything. You shouldn't need to add much more to your army if any, depending on how many points you play.

Ghost, do you need to download the errata anymore? i was under the impression that the rulebook was updated with all errata changes. At least i thought i heard that somewhere before and would be very interested to know if that was right or not.

It's possible. I've still got my rulebook from when the game came out, so I really can't say.

The PDF on the GW website does have the errata included IIRC, and I think they also reprinted it so the version you can buy today is the same as the PDF.

IIRC They haven't made a new print run with the errata Rulebook PDF.
