OK, here's Rev. #1 from comments taken. Definitely tighter.

This card still has the black boarder. For some reason when I export the file to jpg on a Windows 7 machine, it does the whole background black...Go figure. ::)

More comments from me im afraid, but just to re-iterate that i think this is a great idea/looks good first :)

It was mostly the AP5+/AT6+ that needed the space before the + since the numerals are pretty much touching it, the + on the big stats looks gappy now, but partly looks odd due to the crazy large (really wtf? :o )+ in optimus :D

Still needs tracking :D

Last time ill mention it, but if you have trajan*, id use that instead, less work for you as it will be kerned properly by default metric, Or you could try setting the kerning on optimus to optical not metric and see if photoshop improves it? It will look the same/better in terms of letterform shape (crisper drawing of the same letters).

*seem to remember it comes with office and creative suite, so you may well have a version already

OK, Fixed the plus symbol (hopefully) and shortened the gap between the 4+ on the stats (had it up to a 4 on gap, now down to 1), also spaced the +'s at the weapon stats

As for the font, I think I'll stick to Optimus for now. Working on getting my fonts sorted out from one computer to the next... It's hard to do all this work on a laptop with a 13" screen.

Is it sad that I'm not seeing the differences?

OK....Assault Marine V1.1

I'll be working on doing a Titan tonight so I can figure how much room is going to get chewed up by all the wonderful weapons they can use.

I'd like to see the unit type at the top, under the unit name. Second Preference would be above the main text box.

Just a small criticism - you should be looking to avoid having text directly over graphics. The labels for the stats are hard to read and should have their own background.

Personally, I find them easily readable. :)

The weapon text and special rules might cause problems if printed at a smaller size, but I think that has more to do with text size than background.

Where these cards might be most handy would be for the titans/WE's. Put them in a sleeve where you can cross off void shields, structure points, blast markers etc with a wipeable marker.

Actually that's kind of what I'm working on as a matter of fact. I always thought it would be nice to keep track of stats, so The War Engine/Titan Cards will be two sided with the stats.

Excellent idea though ;D

Thanks for the feedback guys!

Had kind of a setback over the weekend, as I injured myself on Saturday. I'm back up and walking (literally), so I'll be working on these this week and hopefully I'll have a decent set by the end of the week to upload.

Kids really are going to be the death of me. :'(

Cheers!

Sorry to hear that. If you don't mind telling, what happened? However it did, hope you heal up nicely.

Thanks SG. I'm on the mend.

Well Daddy (me) was playing a little too rough with the kiddos and BAM...or should I say, "POP", I threw my back out thanks to the old snow sledding crash I had when I was 18 or 19...it was EPIC....pun intended. :D

So 2 days later and some TLC from my Chiropractor/Wife and I'm on the mend. Seriously though, I pretty much was crawling around for 24 hrs when it happened. That's how I spent my weekend. Pinched nerves I have to say are one of the most painful feelings you'll ever experience if it ever happens to you. I've broken bones and this hurts waaaaaay worse. :o
