A dubt. if a unit is added to a detachment that contain no teleport unit, his skill should be used? If yes, how? a teleport detachment for use this ability must be composed of all teleport unit? Usually, we have used in this way. |

Hi - Assuming you have a formation consisting of 4 terminators and 2 dreadnoughts, could you teleport the terminators in and then at a later stage drop the dreadnoughts in using a drop pod? Alternatively, if you have a formation consisting of 8 terminators, could you teleport 4 in, play a while and then during another turn teleport the remaining 4 terminators in (of course keeping formation - ie 5cm) Cheers |

I'm afraid you can't do that, as it would count as "leaving the 2 Dreadnought models behind whilst moving" when the Terminators teleported in... destroying them and giving the Terminators 2 BM's! More to the point, a formation of Teleporters may not use the ability unless all have it, since it affects the formation as a whole. As an analogy, see the discussion on mixing Disrupt and non-Disrupt barrages. |

I didn't think you got BMs for leaving units behind? As BMs are only generated by incoming fire/attacks same as yo don't get a BM for failing a dangerous terrain test |

Pretty sure you do get BM if you leave them behind during the game as they count as destroyed...not deploying them at all not so sure... |

You get BMs for leaving units behind during the game, but not if you leave them behind as part of your deployment. This was discussed extensively regarding dropping vehicles in order to garrison at the start of the game (or to deploy in Air-transport etc) That said, the rules prohibit a formation from teleporting if there are some units that may not teleport. It is not clear whether you may elect to discard transport in order to teleport the rest, though IMHO it should probably be permitted under the same logic; you are dropping units that you have paid for and reducing the formation size, whilst gaining the ability to drop the remaining formation anywhere on the board. If it goes to victory points, you use the number of units deployed, but count the cost of the original formation. Eg, Marines pay for a terminator formation upgraded with Land Raiders and a leader - costing 750 points (and probably their BTS). At the start of the game they decide to drop the LRs to deploy the termies by teleport. At the end of the game the victory points are determined on the number of termies left, but the points awarded are a proportion of the original 750. |

Aye that makes sense, you are allowed to leave units behind at the deployment stage if you wanted to. |
