Hi all,

Thanks to THIS TOTALLY TOP BLOKE ABOUT WHOM I REMEMBER NOTHING, I now have these Awesome 'Crons ready to party, but they're all in their birthday suits and need a paintjob:

I'm not the greatest painter to begin with, though, and need some advice on the best way to achieve The 'Cron Look.

Anyone out there got advice regarding:

  • Best basecoat colour?
  • Best way to achieve the green-tinged darkness?
  • Best way to paint the glowing green gun barrels?

Any and all help gratefully received. :)

I think I might be able to help some with this.

I basecoated mine black since that was the majority of the color on the model. After that I did a drybrush with snot green and a wash of the the same color to give it the green tint. Then I blended black into the shadows to even it up and to line the panels. Highlights were done with goblin green. Glowy bit were done with a undercoat of snot green highlighted up to goblin green and finally some sunburst yellow to really make the centers glow.

this was the end result:

Thanks, Vaaish! That's exactly what I was looking for! (It was actually your photos that inspired my purchases originally). :D
