I only ask because the FAQ contradicts itself It says Q: Can a Skimmer unit/Formation do a Pop up attack as a part of it's Sustain Fire or hold Action A: No Then 3 questions down Q: Can a skimmer which fails it's action test and decides to fire as it's hold action pop up and fire? A: A skimmer that Fires as part of it's hold action may Pop up. confused ![]() Oh and ....GO CANUCKS GO!!!!!!!!!!! 1 more!!!! 1 MORE!!!!! |

One for Nealhunt but I'm pretty sure you can't popup and fire on a hold/sustain. You need a movement component to pop up, with the exception being overwatch were you can pop up, but will remain so until you take your shots. And the Canucks are killing me. Keep waking up at 05:00 BST to check othe score! |

I know on a hold you can't pop up, at least that's how Dave and I play. If you're on the side of evil, then you're rooting for the canucks. Go Bruins!!!! |

Lies and calumny. The Bruins wear black (clearly the colors of evil) and white (also, as Star Wars has taught us, the color of evil). You can't fight facts. |

That second FAQ might be in reference to an older version of the Skimmer rules, where you could pop-up at the start of an activation and pop-down at the end. We play it as Meph says though, you need movement to pop-up, or you need to overwatch. You stay popped-up until you finish your activation or use your overwatch/activate again (as I don't believe you're allowed to overwatch, not use it and sustain in the next turn to get the benefit of being popped-up). Look at it this way. Hold is pretty much a subset of marshal, so if you can't overwatch with a marshal (as per the rules) you can't with a hold. Also, go Whalers... |

You mean "Go Hurricanes", right? |

SK, the Bruins may be evil, but Dave is the most evil of all - he has no interest in the finals whatsoever. As Zapp Brannigan asked, "what makes a man turn neutral?" *shudder* "Take this thread to Cuba!" |

It's like he's from Quebec. Are you ever overcome with an urge to eat french fries, gravy and cheese curds, Dave? Or to mutter about battles from two hundred years ago? |

Freedom fries and gravy? Never. Although I developed a taste for fries and vinegar thanks to Five Guys. |

Well, I thought Dave's was good, but he thinks Hartford still exists, so... |

I would suggest that you may not pop-up and fire as part of a hold: during a Hold you may EITHER fire OR move (not both), and popping up is deemed to be a 'movement'. In the same vein, you may not pop-up to provide supporting fire in an assault, as supporting units do not have a move. |

A: A skimmer that Fires as part of it's hold action may Pop up. This is the old/original GW FAQ entry (written in black) for the skimmer rules before the rule book update. If you check the Master FAQ on this board viewtopic.php?f=69&t=18419 you will notice it has been changed to the updated rulebook . I'm not sure if Neal can change the GW FAQ page to match the Master FAQ here. |

Yes, it's a horrible typo. The latter FAQ was supposed to be deleted and was not. However, with support from GW being what it is, it's nearly impossible for us to update docs on the website. No pop-up without moving unless you are going on OW. You cannot Hold/Fire and pop-up. |
