Dwarf Supreme's comments had me wondering-

Have you ever thrown your dice in frustration? Perhaps you are a repeat offender? Here is your chance to confess your sins!

I have thrown dice once, and it oddly enough wasn't in that game. It was a big game I played against ePilgrim where he made some bone head move and all I had to do was land my Vampire (fully laden with Aspects) to assault. It would have been the end of a full artillery company. A lone Hydra stood between me and my target.

He rolled two '5's. I failed every armor save. The dice went FLYING into the trash can 20 feet away (didn't miss the can, however).

I had a friend who kept dice in the freezer to punsih them if they didn't behave.

I used to do it habitually. Never in an 'angry' fashion, just out of frustration. I have no issue with losing, but when the fickle foot of fate kicks you inna nutz (2+ on a d6, 2-4+ on a d20), on a critical or game deciding action, yeah, the dice used to fly.

I still curse, but never in any meaningful measure. But the dice tend to stay on the table.

Never thrown away dice myself, no need to get angry with impartial bits of plastic. :D

Oh yes there is ;D
I'm sad to say the dice have flown out of my hands before (note the use of passive voice there; probably an indication of my shame). I have even broken a whippy-stick in frustration once, to my further embarrassment and shame, as it was someone else's. :-[ 'Twas replaced - time to switch to decaf.

However, I've been using Dave's dice lately, so I've been able to restrain myself. There was a great dice incident last night, but I'll let Dave tell that one.

Rarely, when I was much younger.

Never thrown any, I think.
However I casually insult, threaten, debase, humiliate and yell abuse to dices, just as with other inanimate objects* and pets - I actually love my cat, but I still talk trash to it at every turn.

* computer, keyboard, anything not working correctly, stuff I hurt myself with (like the dreaded wall corner you hit with your naked toe while going to the toilet in the middle of the night), plastic bit not wanting to get glued on something, disobedient miniature deflecting my X-acto blade toward my finger, etc...

Cannot remember ever having a need to throw dice because of frustration, though I do remember throwing a Subbuteo Rugby player during a game when I was around 8 or 9 .

I am not sure dptdexys has ever *needed* to "throw the dice" - except perhaps after I touched them :)

Mind you he also suggests you need to establish whether they are 'left-handed' or 'right-handed' and treat them accordingly, and invariably tries to ricochet them of a convienient hill to ensure they behave :D

Never thrown them, at least intentionally. My dice dance like Mexican jumping beans on Cinco de Mayo. You name it, they've ended up underneath or cocked above it (take that as you will ;)). It could be worse though, at least I don't have a predisposition to spill drinks when around large amounts of painted figures...

My dice are usually pretty good to me though. Last night's exception being four teleport rolls for four Lictors. Four 1s... :P

Dave's dice roll Exhibit A from a warmaster game many months ago:

That's NOT an action photo :o
There's not a game that goes by in which Dave isn't searching under multiple tables, chairs, store shelves, store mascots, etc. for his jumping bean dice.

And that, my friends, is how you roll a 14 on a 2d6.

It's all in the hip thrust.

I used to throw dice when the totaly F$#&ed me, like how often dose St. celesteen fail her LD10 after she dies the first time 2 games in a row at a tournament? >:( , in my book she lost her freakin saint hood at that time. thankfully i was playing a friend and knew how much I had just been F-ed and just laughed. It also helped that there was a door that was opened to let some fresh air into the hall that let me run out and scream bloody murder with out *too* many people noticing , ::) . that was 4-5 years ago. the sisters havent come out too much since then cus I think I lost my saint hood at the same time. ;D . i also started playing demons, with the idea being i would never fail a LD check again, and it works!

thats also when i started bring a sledge hammer to all my 40k games. dice have almost never failed me since. 8)

And if it has tought me any thing its to mix up your dice collection. Im probly the only one in town that dosnt have a full set of chessex dice any more(and i had like 6 or 7 sets!), had to weed out the weak from the strong i keep telling people. they just say Im crazy. I never could figger out why... ;)

but im kinda happy with my self as of late cus i havent "lost" any dice in a few years. :D

Never. I'm a pretty good sport. I lose enough to warrant it. If I got too upset at bad dice, I would've been charged for assault years ago!

Yep. I once threw my dice across the room in a 40K GT. Strangely it was this particular game that made me realise how crap 40K was and I never went back. :)
