Remember, however, IG Commanders are discrete unit types, not characters. Commissars make the best use of Supreme Commander's extra CC, but lose the second leader, as it does not stack on a stand, just across stands in a formation. |

With Guard it makes sense background-wise for the mandatory Commissar with the Regimental HQ to be in the command stand itself and it's also tactically useful as it makes your all important supreme commander fearless so the enemy can't break his formation and blast marker him to death. You can stack characters generally. It might not be advisable in most instances but I was considering combining a couple of characters from a marine list in a terminator stand to represent a chapter master. |

Of course there's a trade-off though; you end up with only one leader in the formation instead of two. Quote: You can stack characters generally. I'm pretty sure the marine list only allows each upgrade once per formation, so only one character per formation. |
