So a marine drop army faces a chaos drop army. What is the sequence of set up? Both sides have Spacecraft, infantry that can go in drop pods, Terminators and thunderhawks (or the chaos equivalent) First place Objectives Then marine player declares spacecraft entry turn. Does he then declare all formations that are planetfalling as well? Or does it alternate tot he chaos player saying spacecraft turn, then alternating what unit is going to planetfall? Then plot entry points. Marine, then Chaos then marine etc place garrisons. Then when deciding what will be kept in reserve does the marine declare everything or alternate with the chaos player formations? Then set up rest normally. Edit and I've forgotten the teleport order, is it initiative winner declares first or second? |

Neal gave the following answer in the FAQ:- Quote: Q: There have been several clarifications regarding the General Tournament Scenario setup procedure. Can we get a list of the setup sequence for the GT similar to the Sequence of Play chart? Sure. GT Pre-Game Setup List Highest strategy rating acts first during setup. 1. Choose board sides. 2. Place objectives. 3. Deploy fortifications. 4. Decide when spacecraft arrive. Plot targets (secretly). Formations with an option to deploy via planetfall must declare at this point whether they will use planetfall. 5. Place garrisons, alternating players. Formations with an option to deploy as a garrison declare at this point. Once a player states they have no further garrisons to deploy, they may not deploy any more garrisons, i.e. no "passing" on placement. Garrisons are declared to be on Overwatch as they are deployed. 6. Declare which undeployed formations will remain in Reserves, alternating players. Any reserves with deployment options must choose the method of deployment at this point. For example, Eldar reserves must decide whether they will Teleport or use a Wraithgate. 7. Set up remaining formations on the table in the deployment zone, alternating players. From this, I would suggest that when Space craft are declared, their contents are also defined. Then, Garrisons are declared alternatively Finally other reserves (teleporters, webway etc) are declared alternatively |

With teleport you place before the initiative roll. The higher strategy player gets to chose who places the first teleporting formation then alternate until there are no more formations to teleport or both sides have passed. No stalling allowed. |
