Post subject:  Raiders 2.0 - check back here for freq updates

Firstly, my sincere apologies to the community for being away for so long. I am getting crushed at work and something had to give. Since Epic doesn't pay the bills, I had to go with the company. Things are starting to come back to manageable levels, however, and I want to get things moving again.

Epic: Siege is currently being printed as of the date of this posting, so I anticipate having those books in my hands by next week. Raiders 2.0 is now on the forefront and I wanted to do my last minute push on things. Look through this thread: I will be posting pdfs. Check them for CONTENT, not for formatting. I'm pulling these things out of their documents so page numbers might be off or missing, paragraphs might be blended, whatever. If you see a problem, please let me know ASAP.

This first attachment is the FAQ section. NetERC, please review this especially close as I want to get this right from the get-go.

Thanks a bunch to everyone for your help and continued patience.

Your first FAQ for necrons contradicts itself later.

The first answer to "What happens if I fail to activate offboard" is you can either move or regroup, but later you say you are not allowed to regroup.

Are you sure that infantry units can't take cover from light vehicles?

2.1.9:
Quote:
The only difference between light vehicles and armoured vehicles is that light vehicles can be affected by AP fire as well as AT fire

If that's the only difference then in all other respects they should be treated the same, including for cover effects.

Here is the Necron stuff, sans formatting and pics and all things fun. Wraiths and Abbatoirs and C'tan were the only units changed. Check it out!

1.8.4 states explicitly "Armoured Vehicles: Infantry count as being in cover and receive the -1 to hit modifier (but no cover save) if they are touching an armoured vehicle or war engine, to represent their ability to take cover from enemy
fire by crouching behind the vehicle." Since the rule mentions two different types of units (AVs and WEs) it seemed logical to me that LVs were not included. However, I've been wrong in the past so... NetERC ruling please??!

Missed that one! Thanks!

Here is what I changed it to:
Q. What happens if I have a Phalanx off board that fails its activation roll?

A. The formation is left with limited options through the hold action. Since shooting is not possible off board and regrouping is not allowed off-board, the Phalanx would only be able to move through an available portal or choose not to activate.

Light Vehicles are a sub-class of Armoured Vehicles that can also recieve AP fire. In all other respects they are the same unless specifically mentioned otherwise (such as in the portal/wraithgate rules).

LV are a target type of their own (Inf, LV, AV, WE) not a sub class of anything (IMO).

Quote:
2.1.9 Light Vehicles
Light vehicles include any unarmoured vehicles where the
crew is exposed to enemy fire, such as Ork buggies and
Space Marine Land Speeders. The only difference
between light vehicles and armoured vehicles is that light
vehicles can be affected by AP fire as well as AT fire; in
effect they count as infantry targets against AP fire and
armoured targets against AT fire.
Light vehicles rely on speed and agility to protect them
from enemy fire, and because of this their saving throw is
based on these factors rather than the thickness of any
armour they may carry. This aside, their saving throw
works in exactly the same manner as the saving throw of
any other unit, and will be ignored by macro-weapons,
can be used against barrages, and so on.

From a practical sense, I am not sure how you can declare cover against a flying wicker basket. :)

There was a FAQ on that zombo, page 10. LVs don't give the concealment bonus.

I think it's missing the line for the CC value of it's scarab swarm. Check the Abbatoir, it has all three.
