I have a number of friends who play Field of Glory at our FLGS, and they all have neat pavilions/sheep herders/base camps in their back field that always crack me up as I walk by.

I was thinking that having something like that would be kind of fun in E:A, some sort of supply train something or other - not as a special objective, but as part of the game in general.

Then I thought, "it wouldnt really matter, because anyone, anywhere, could just shoot the tar out of it." The Total War scenario of "Escort Duty" came to mind, where you just cannot protect the transports short of hiding them in terrain somewhere.

So, what would happen to this game as a whole if units were able to screen similar units behind them? Formation "Infantry A" is deployed in front of "Infantry B", and "Infantry X" wants to shoot at B. Currently, as long as B is in range, and in LoS, no worries. But what if B had to maneuver around A to see past it?

Infantry blocks Infantry.
LV block Inf and AV.
AV block for other AV and Infantry
etc etc

Im sure I'll get blown up for this, but Im just doing this for curiosity's sake. "What if?"

The blitz objective is theoretically the Supply Line/Baggage Train in Epic:A.

As for the "Line of Sight" give it a try.
The rulebook encourages players to try/do things differently if they prefer, this includes rule modifications.

When we've tried alternate rules in the past they've always been fun but quickly add complexity to the game and value of units alter quickly.

Usually Scenarios are great for little rule tweaks/changes.

When your messing around with rules, I wouldn't worry about points values and the army lists. Points values are finely tuned to the tournament scenario and standard rules and become increasingly 'out' as you change stuff.

Invent scenarios with either fixed or course army choices and have ye fun!
