Hi all, Apologies if this is in the wrong forum, I'm new to the board and a bit flustered with all the sub-forums! I've recently gotten back into epic, it was the first GW game I played back in 1992 and it's effectively what sunk the gaming hooks into me. I'm now 30 and after getting bored of painting 40k and whfb armies, fancied a blast from the past and decided to dabble with the little 6mm blokes again. My big problem at the mo is not really knowing what's what when it comes to the epic range and more importantly, what you actually get for your money. The GW site is incredibly vague, the space marine character pack for example just says '5 strips of models' or something to that effect. So... to the point of this thread... is there a site somewhere that has a breakdown of most of, if not all of, the epic range and what you actually get for your cash? I found a breakdown of the sm character pack and the whirlwinds / hunters blister on a blog somewhere out there (forget the name of it off the top of my head) but at a total loss for the rest of them really. Cheers ![]() |

The blog is Sons of Twiligth twilight40k.blogspot.com I have a couple more things to post that I have yet to get a chance. I look at ebay this way. You can get good deals but it takes a lot of time to constantly search for the items, estimate what you are willing to pay or snipe bid. It is pretty much an everyday thing to search and sort and decide what is still at a value price when its time gets near. Sure you can get good deals but what is your time worth? Big bundles are one thing but often the individual blisters when including shipping sell for prices that might only save you a few dollars each over retail and that might not be worth your time. |

Hey eriochrome, thanks for the blog post about the character pack, ordered it the other day thanks to seeing what I'd actually get in the pack ![]() With regards to ebay, there's a few things that bug me enough that I'd prefer to pay GW's prices direct from them and they are: 1. Consistency across a whole army, i.e. I can't handle say having 6 of the old style rhinos and 6 new style rhinos 2. I'm a sucker for new / unpainted / still on sprue stuff. It's part of the fun for me and having to strip a bunch of models before I can do anything with them leaves me feeling a bit cold 3. Time! I don't have much of it, busy with work, 6 month old child, freelance work, etc. so I look at ebay probably once or twice a month at the moment There's exceptions, granted, things like titans etc. I wouldn't mind picking up second hand on ebay but for now, I'm just going to sit and quietly plug away at my small force, allow myself a restricted budget (so I don't feel too bad about paying £12 for 8 stands of terminators or something stupid) per month and just go from there. edit: just had a quick look at the GW site, price increases have kicked in... battle company is now £1.50 more expensive.. but the comedy option is the landing craft, showing a price of £37?!... |

The real kicker is the ugly warhound titan went up here to $27.50 just got 2 nice looking forgeworld ones from them for like $31.00 sjipped to the satates 2 months ago. I currently have the Space Marine Dreadnoughts, Space Marine Drop Pods(both were purchased because of price increase), Forge World Reaver, and Squat Gyrocopters to add to the blister contents posts. Dreads are the only really interesting one as you get 1 assault cannon and fist, 1 lascannon and missile, and 1 multimelta and fist. |

ah, dreadnoughts were one of those I was interested in, again the pic on the GW site is useless at showing what you get then ![]() Which is exceedingly tight, especially given you're paying so much for them ![]() |

You might do better by phone. I will try to get the Dreads posted up tonight. I was going to do it last night but was distracted when my home town baseball team was denied a perfect game by a bad call on the last play. We were watching it live and just in shock all night. |
