hi guys as the title says really, how bad does a casting have to be for you to get in touch with forgeworld about it? i just got some warhounds in the post and they are what i would call very rough. the moulds have slipped 2mm-ish during production on the legs, the details on the turbo lasers are so poorly casted they are literally flaking off, parts of the armour on the legs and carapace have holes in where its got too thin and the hip/groin parts are very poor, the mould has slipped and a few of the surfaces have lots of excess resin on them, deleting details. are forgeworld good for sorting models like this out? whats the procedure? i could rescue the models but it would mean alot of work, cutting and shaving bad bits and carving/scratching new details into it. they would never look as good as they could have though. cheers adam |

I'd call and tell them. before the epic review they had just fixed some of the casting issues with the warhounds so you might have gotten an old pack. Yours sounds pretty wretched. |

Quote: (stardude @ Feb. 17 2010, 16:16 ) are forgeworld good for sorting models like this out? whats the procedure? Yes, definitely - their quality control of original orders isn't always perfect, but if you call and report it they will normally be happy to post you out a new replacement set (you tend to get to keep the original too so you have spares / bits for scenery possibly). I've had a half a dozen or so packs replaced out of very many ordered over the years. I tend to call them and explain, they're a bit slow/unreliable at answering their emails I believe. |

I've always complained about stuff like that: and they've always been very good at replacing it. Usually letting you keep the original models rather than have oyu send them back. The Epic range has however suffered from not being particulalrly important to them so I wouldn't want to say how good other castings may be... R> |

and the turbo lasers. they are all rough and fuzzy. most detail has been lost and thefins on the barrels are badly cast, as they are only attached at either end and have failed to bond to the barrel during casting. ![]() |

Yes I'd say those are bad enough to complain about. |

I'd agree that the Technomagus in charge should be reprimanded.  ![]() I need to go lie down. ![]() |

just spoke to simon at FW. he said to send them back and he will send out some replacements.  took address etc, then checked to see if he had any of variety 2 left in stock. none left, apparently not been any for months. he couldnt actually beleive that i got a set of the type 2 warhands from them to begin with. after we cleared that up, we decided that i would keep the weapons from this set and send the rest back.  i would then get a set of the standard warhounds sent back out to me. hope that makes sence lol ![]() |

That explains why they're such bad quality I guess, you got some of the last 2's in existence, right as the mould was dying. |
