I heard about that possible storm, which emphasizes the risk of planning something like this in winter. Since we'll be leaving Friday morning, the drive down should be fine for us. The forecast here calls for the storm going south of New England. So, maybe the drive home will be fine. I'm keeping fingers crossed.

Misbehave, PLEASE!

(flash forward to Saturday) "I have no idea why Matt didn't show.  He screamed something about his maniples and hung up the phone."

Yeah, you are close enough I suppose to be lumped in with us.  That is, if you actually want to be known as associating with us.

I'm guessing maniples being short for man nipples? In that case you can leave my man nipples alone you filthy sybarite!

As for snow, bugger. That rules out setting the cruise control while I have a snooze.

I am watching the storm and generally cursing it's timing with a flair for viking dramatics.

Seriously, if it gets REALLY bad (and that isn't what they calling for, but there is always a chance) we SHOULD postpone this shindig.  I don't want anyone getting hurt over Epic unless it's ME doing them the hurt.

I don't think we need to postpone, but we do need to plan accordingly.  News reports the storm will stay well to the south (meaning MD) on Saturday, so the Adeptus Ineptus shouldn't have any problems coming in Friday night.  That's three losers showing up right there.

Matt and I are driving together and possibly staying overnight.  While the drive in might suck, we're going to take off with a couple hours to spare.

Ron and his son are driving separately and were planning on driving home that night.  I don't see that being the sharpest move, but hopefully their playing will be better than their judgment on their driving.

So that covers Adeptus Ineptus and Bethlehem Resin.  The stragglers I can't speak for but they seem like reasonably cautious people.  I think we're good.

Any word on when the snow is supposed to stop?

Looks like Saturday will be the day for snow in MD. The stuff we're getting right now will stop by tonight. Roads should be fine for us, it's the boys coming down and heading back Saturday that might have problem.

All the more reason they should stay over.

Most recent update is a 10% on Friday, 30% chance of snow on Saturday, 0% on Sunday. It is going to be pretty cold but fortunately the only ice we'll have to deal with in the afternoon is going to be on the snow terrain board.

Thanks for the update, Mosc. Sounds like we (Dave, Matt and I) have nothing to worry about either Friday or Sunday. I'm glad it's snowing here today and not tomorrow.

Yes, the present meteorological consensus is that the bad stuff is going to hit south of Maryland, and Maryland may get 1-2 inches on Saturday.  Really nothing to worry about for anyone in the Northeast.

If we were Texans or Californians, why there would be rioting in the streets right now.

don't mind if I quote you to the wife, she was all set on getting biblical at me if there was even a single snowflake in the sky tomorrow morning.

Well,

As far as I could tell, everyone (who had the cojones to actually show up) had a great time.

I got in 2 games against new opponents, one a hard-fought victory against the Marines, and the second a very close loss in a nail-biter against Tau, of which literally 2 rolls would've changed the outcome (frikkin' Lictors).

Battle Reports to come.
