Just got an email back from Romeo at Battle Foam answering questions I had about them making custom cut foam for Epic.  He said at the top of his message, We will have something coming out in the near future for the Epic size game. I picked up one of their bags for my 40K Marines, and these things are ace.  I know everyone has their favorite troop transporting system, but I am a Battle Foam convert.  They have a bag coming out called the P.A.C.K. 216 that holds 3" of trays that might be perfect size for an epic army.  Their trays come in 1/2" increments, so that could be a ton of room.  I plan to layout my marines and Eldar to see how many trays I need. Some of you multi-multi army owners will probably outgrow the 216 but they have larger size bags and they just introduced Flames of War precut foam trays.  I'll post back after I've learned more. |

I have had a look at their tailored trays and they look very impressive. Reckon they will be perfect for both tanks and infantry for W40k. Will need to find out if they have a UK distributor. Cheers James |

In their new news video, Romeo says bags will be shipping to brick and morter shops, you might have to ask your FLGS to get them in, or just contact Battle Foam and they might be able to steer you the right way. I know a lot of complaints have been raised oversees and in Canada about shipping costs, so this might be your best bet. I got the P.A.C.K. 1520 with the SM load out, and there is more than enough room for anything I could want in it. The only problem I've seen is the Vindicator slot, it doesn't quite fit with the dozer blade on. But I can get around that by taking it off and putting it in another slot. |

Sent in my order form for my Battle Foam Epic Trays. Two trays for Marines, three for Eldar. I'll post pics when I get them. |

Are these custom cut trays? I don't see anything epic-specific up yet. I normally use the new KR multi-case 6/10mm trays and they work relatively well. Storing epic stuff in the lighter foam trays isn't a problem like it is for heavier items. However, if the Battlefoam trays can handle significantly more, than they would be worth the money. |

They are custom cut trays, so it's a bit of cash to throwdown, but I think it is worth it. My first tray layout includes; 3x Devestators Detachment, 2x Scout Detachment, 5x Terminator Detachment, 4x Assault Detachment, cutout for 4 stands of Tactical Command stands, cutout for 3 stands Terminator Command, 3 stands Assault Command, 3 stands Devestators Command, then 33x cutouts for rhino chasis vehicles (all my vehicles here are based on GW 20mm squares). I won't list out everything on the other trays, but you can see, you can fit a lot in a BF tray. The downside is that each tray is $30US (for custom cut trays), but I want to spend it, as everything I've used so far to store the minis in up to now has just left me wanting something better. I told them they could use my layouts for development purposes as I made all my cutouts fit one whole infantry detachement, or one vehicle stand. Hopefully they will incorporate this into their plans, but it might be hard, as every epic player has a different set of models, based differently (if at all) and in varying quantities. But it might give them a start off point. |

I'm looking forward to seeing what you get. If it looks good, I may give it a try for one of my armies. I think I would be inclined to just give them the measurement of my bases, a limit on how many I want in one slot (no more than 2, 3, etc.) and let them see how many they can fit in. I know they can make the dividers between slots remarkably thin because of the laser cutting; with basic infantry, they wouldn't need very thick walls. It shouldn't be hard to fit in a lot of 25mm square bases - just the thing for my orks! ![]() |

I layed everything out in CAD, labeled everything (detachement name, and cutout dimensions), then sent them PDF's of each tray. |

That's a bit beyond me, so I think I would pass the buck on it. ![]() |

It is a bit expensive, but I figure I've spent a lot of time and money on the models, I might as well buy superior foam trays and have something I'm satisfied with. Not for everyone I know. |

Yeah, a bit expensive for my taste, too. Too bad; they look nice. |

It's worth noting that they are much larger than some trays. That is why I am curious to see how much they can hold; if they hold twice as much as my current trays, or even 1.5x, then they may be worth the cost. So hurry up and get them, DCD Hermes! ![]() |

I have bought several cases from figures in comfort and GW cases. I liked the flexibility of different trays from figures in comfort, using trays designed for chariots for titans. What Battlefoam seem to do really well is to have trays excatly tailored to your models. I like the fact that for W40k trays you can get trays designed expressly to hold Land Raiders / predators / Vindicators. If they can do something similar for Epic then might be worth it, although costs wiould prevent me getting more than one. I like the idea of a case designed to hold titans with holes epxressly designed for Emperor /; Warlord / raever and Warhounds. What configuration did you go for> Can you post or e-mail the PDF you spoke about? Cheers James |
