Oi... well I guess I won't ever be making a Tau army. Just don't have the funds to do it right now for an entire army AND finishing up what I need for IG from forgeworld... either way, I'm still relegated to SG chimeras. I did get my order in for a pack of lucious pattern BB, some terrain chunks I've been wanting and a few other things.

Wow. This sucks.

I didn't have any immediate need for FW in the future having just dropped a decent chunk of change on Falcons and Wave Serpents, but it's going to make finishing my IG army in the far future that much harder. Also it really hurts the people who want to do Tau and Grey Knights.

As a small note, the last time I was in Legions games in Pittsburgh they had a decent stock of FW Tau on their racks, so if you only need a few baggies of stuff you might want to try contacting them. Not a lot of repetition but rather they had 1 bag of a lot of things.

Well this completely sucks testes.

The only thing I actually wanted from FW was Grey Knight Termies, dammit!

I don't know if it's GW, or me, or whatever, but it's getting harder and harder to remain active in these games when the immense cost and seemingly declining playerbase is constantly in the back of my mind.

I agree with you buddy. Epic is the only 'mass combat' game right now that really interests me, and they're just really trying to make it die (Although we obviously aren't letting them ;-) ).

I've been much more into skirmish and smaller games like A.I, AE-WWII and bloodbowl for a while now as GW are just making things crazy expensive.

There are many other manufacturers and games taking up the exodus slack though!

This is total fricking rubbish.

I admit that I don't know much about resin manafacturing but there are so many various ranges and elements on the FW site, surely with the rabid fanbase Epic seems to have they could keep churning them out even if in a smaller number.  How's about they hand over the moulds to someone like E & C or Otterman who knows a bit about casting?  I know that's unlikely but I'm clutching a straws here!

This is a dark day.

Whilst we may be rabid, we are a very small fan base.

Perhaps they could help their sales by, say, promoting specialist games on any level whatsoever?

Some of the people I game with have been playing fantasy for somewhere around a decade, and didn't know that the rules and minis for specialist games still even existed until around last month.

Even just putting a 'head on over to the specialist games section' hotlink on the gw website homepage would make a difference...

Sigh... Frak me sideways. Well, at least i had an order last month for both flavors of Warhound and split it with a buddy. Now I just put in an order for some terrain and a Gargantuan Squiggoth. Always wanted one of these and now is the time to get it I guess.

I hope they do rationalise the range rather than getting rid of it entirely - we don't absolutely need more than one type of Wave Serpent (stick to whatever the one in the Eldar list is armed with), Tau Hammerhead, Leman Russ, Gun Wagon, Chimera etc and could loose thing like the Tau Turrets or the Earthshaker Carriage without any great loss. But I would think a small limited range, sort of similar to the specialist games one, but much nicer models could be profitable. They could also bump up the price £1-2 per tank (but importantly still keep them cheaper than GW) and still have people buy.

Releasing at least a small range of new things that are commonly used in tournament lists could garner new sales too; things like Rhinos and Land Raiders (they already basically have these designed thanks to the THT), a Leman Russ/Demolisher (possibly Mars Alpha as that gives them more opportunity to have it look nicer and different-er to the SG one), etc. And though it's been nice to have Grey Knight marines and Terminators it's always struck me as odd they never released the Tactical, Assault and Devastator Marines that they apparently at least partly designed - they'd likely sell many time more models than them and the hardcore people would upgrade their armies with all new models. With the scale match with Aeronitaca Imperialis there could be cross-over gaming and sales either way too, which they might not be considering if they're just looking at 'pure' epic sales.

Maybe getting together and sending them a list of things we would like to buy and how much they could make from them might help? I plan to write to them politely and persuasively arguing the case for keeping some. I'm not holding out much hope for any of this, but we might as well try to talk/spend them round.

Glyn, while that would be nice and what I'd hope to see, I don't hold out much hope it will happen.

Well, I saw the topic and thought "Aarrgh!" as I'd ordered a pair of Warhounds two weeks ago (hoping to take them to London in a few weeks).

The rest of my order (Thunderhawks, Thunderbolts, Baneblades and Bunkers (fortunately not the £97,000 ones) ) is now on its way.

Regarding the warhounds:

* they are looking at re-tooling the epic moulds
* unable to give a time frame

but the interestng one:

* out-of-stock items that have already been ordered should be cast over the next 2-4 weeks to fulfill the outstanding orders

Wow !!!  When I saw all the posts this am, I thought the Titanic sunk again, or the Japs bombed Pearl ... again ! :sus:  This is very disturbing ... But when you look at it from afar, its not too surprising with their lack of previous support and the current market conditions.  I'm lucky I've bought everything I need from F/W for Epic in the past. I've got a full Tau Force, all the AI models, etc., etc., all SIB ...  And I have done this for years, again based on my experience with G/W in the past concerning Epic. If you see something you like/want - BUY IT NOW !!  :O  Of course at this point, other options available are eBay, Bartertown, ChaoOrc, etc.  And as always I push our "homies" lines of DRM & E/W as well as GZG, ORGE, etc., etc.   Not to mention some of the stuff from our Homeboys like that Evil Chaos Limey & that Texas Amphibian ...  :vD   So my question is ... does this put an end to their (future) plans for the In Scale EPIC Titans/Titan game ?

Its sad that these minis disappear, and I especially sympathize with those of you who have already bought half a Tau army and now get to see the possibility of completing it go down the drain.

Having said that I personally have never been interested in the FW stuff other than the buildings perhaps. When painting I simply prefer metal over resin or plastic too much to be interested. Im thinking that maybe so many of the people that are still into epic are old timers like me that feel the same way, and that that might be part of the explanation for the lack of success of FW epic?
