For anyone that has them: how easy would it be to remove all the Grey Knights specific iconography off them? And is it possible kitwise or conversion-wise to have the sponsons on the more normal rear placing and doors on the front side placing? It'll affect how many I buy as part of a big order (to avoid paying P&P) and, so would be handy to know in advance. I'm considering converting them for all my Marine and Chaos Land Raider needs and then selling/trading the metal ones I have. |

It wouldn't be at all difficult to remove the iconography - I use mine as Black Templar LR Crusaders so have removed all the icons. I just shaved them off with a sharp knife I don't think it would be that easy to switch the sponsons and doors placement though as the sponsons fit into recesses |

Ooh a response, thanks Steve! I've been up all night writing a Plato essay, so this gives me a welcome distraction while drinking the latest of many cups of tea, before having to go to work all day. Fun times. How much detail is there on the doors? Would it be possible to cut replacement doors out of plasti-card is one was careful? (along with possibly cutting off detail bits and sticking them on top) Or maybe attempt to make a green-stuff impression / mold of one? I've heard of those being done, though I've never tried it myself, so don't know how feasible it'd be or quite how they work (what do you use to stop the green stuff sticking together?) - anyone tried them and know? |

From memory the only detail on the doors is the icon and the hinges - I don't think fitting the sponsons there would be a problem, as for making replacement doors for the sponson recesses I would think that is doable with plasticard+green stuff for the details I don't have much experience with greenstuff though - but I'm sure there are plenty of GS experts here |
