Hello all, Been out of the loop the couple of years and just got back to finish off putting together my first Epic army and it looks like things have really changed. I've searched through the forums but still have a few questions. When GW shut down their forums what happened to the SG communities? I used to post quite a lot on the old SG boards and remembered hearing this place mentioned from time to time. Did everyone move over to this site? Are there other community sites left I should check out as well? What happened to the Army Champions? Are they still developing their lists? I've noticed a few sub-forums on here for the various races and was wondering if its the same people running these and if these were the same in development lists from before. Is all future Epic development solely community driven now? A little off topic for this forum but does anyone know what happened to any of the other SG communities, like Blood Bowl and Necromunda? Thanks for any help, Duncan |

Here's a few answers: What happened to the Army Champions? Most of the army champions now develop their lists here. Some new Champions (Like myself) have been appointed by the Net-EpicRulesCommittee where the old Champions have disappeared. Are they still developing their lists? Yep most lists are either in active development or in a finished state. I've noticed a few sub-forums on here for the various races and was wondering if its the same people running these and if these were the same in development lists from before. Yep. Is all future Epic development solely community driven now? Yep. |

Take a look at the link in my signature block and you'll see a very positive change in the community. And #2 will be out this Spring. Let me know what you think! ![]() |

Hi. I think that most of your questions got answered. Regarding the previous SG boards, and other forum games, I was in consultation with SG at the end. I managed to get permission to host the Fanatic Online articles, and these are being made available gradually here: www.sg.tacticalwargames.net I also got the data from the old forums, but it was in the wrong format for my personal use. Therefore, I have decide to create new SG boards instead of trying to resurrect the old ones. I had hoped to do this last week, but had a busy work week so it should happen next week. All the best. |

Thanks for bringing me back up to speed guys. Have to say the quality of what you have produced in the Epic Raiders supplement is quite something! |

Good to have you back with us! You should check out the Epic: Siege supplement too ![]() On the topic on the Specialist Games Epic forums is there really any need to restart them too CS? Haven't the people moved over here anyway, while having two forums could just dilute and separate the community? |

It is a good point. However, there remains a section of Epic players who dont post here, or dont want to post here for a variety of reasons. Players who play a bit of Epic, along with one or more other SG games are more likely to join the SG boards. Besides, you cant have SG forums without Epic discussion! ![]() |
