Hello all, in my soon to be ordered onissian army (based on the IG, ordered as soon as I move to Brighton) I plan on having a pair of warhounds. However, as with most IG moels I don't really like the models. I was thinking about getting proxy models from other companies and game systems. The obvious choice would be battletech models I suppose, but they look a little bit large to me. My idea is to have them be "mechwarrior style", devises piloted with a single individual while the thing repoduces its movements. Since I am planning on them bing warhounds I thought that having them in a dinalic position would look good. I already thid that with an eldar wraithlord in 40k (I have it kneeling down grasping a shuriken cannon as a regular trooper would fire a rifle in that position) and was thinking about a similar idea for the warhounds. I have failed to see titans listed in Mksim's amazing 6mm site, so I thought I should be asking here ![]() Any ideas of companies/models to use here? Health and sixes, Xavi |

Battletech and related items are quite a large pool to pull from. However, others I would look towards: CAV (Larger, but some would make good "Warlord" titans) 25mm/28mm lines such as void have robots that might be good to use. I would also look toward some of the Victorian SciFi lines, some good "metal men" in them. dafrca |

I like the CONCEPT, of titans operated by a single individual, but not necessarily the models themselves ![]() ![]() Cheers! Xavi |

In that case, check out more of the Anime toys. They tend to be closer to the "Humanoid with gun in hands" style. Watch the sizes as they can get big, but Gundam or Robotech for example would fit that kind of "robot with gun" style. dafrca |

Hi! I use BT mechs extensively as proxies in the netepic slann armies. The scale and style of some of them mesh quite well with epic miniatures. I think you should be able to find something that suits you. ![]() Primarch |

I would recommend you first take a look at the CAV because the mechs are generally quite a bit smaller than the Titans. An Adeptus Titanicus Warhound is a bit larger than a BT Battlemaster. |

Except that if he is looking for the "humanoid with gun in hand" the CAV line may not fit his needs. That is why I am thinking some of the many Anime style toys. They are larger then the normal mech from battletech and most are the gun in hand style. dafrca |

Hya there! Well, actually I plan to have a picture of my starting force when I build it up. It is likely to end up formed with T-34/45 or M1A1 tanks for armour and other similar non-GW stuff for other things (man, how I dislike the leman russ  ), so yup, pictures indeed. But you will have to wait a while for them, since I am no ordering and painting them until I move to Brighton (Sussex, UK) in a little bit more than a month ![]() Thanks for the input. I will research those avenues. My fear with the regular anime things is that they look too "tau-ish" thanks to GW than invented the Plato followers of 40k (well, if taking the republic almost exactly can be considered "invent", that is) health and sixes, Xavi |

http://www.ghqmodels.com/store/n15..html http://www.ghqmodels.com/store/r151.html Those were the basde that I was thinking on use for the tanks. The advantage of the soviet ones is that they also have the tank hunter version (SU-2) that come along with these tanks! ( http://www.ghqmodels.com/store/r152.html ) Still, this is quite an investment when it comes to epic minis, so I might reserve it for the tank company. I simply cannot stand the regular leman russ, heh. Too big and ugly for my taste. I can look at it, but will not field one unless I must (like if I have to get some to get in epic tourneys ever). regards, Xavi |
