Has anyone seen the pictures on Bob Naismith?

Follow this link:

... and pick "Sci-Fi" on the left.

Interesting eh?

Hi!

As usual, I'm somewhat clueless on names, how is this guy?

Here is an article on him from the miniatures page:

http://theminiaturespage.com/news/?id=738388

Here is a line he is doing with Old Glory:

http://www.oldgloryminiatures.com/bobna ... cobalt.asp

Here is a poster of some of the first 40k figures, he did quite a few of these (they are listed):

http://www.solegends.com/misc/first40k.htm

He did the Daemon Host for Games Workshop:

http://us.games-workshop.com/storefr....gsize=b

And I understand he did a lot f these superhero figures:

http://www.superfigs.net/

He has been around for about 20 years and I think he does good work.

OK, enough for now. I am starting to sound like a fanboy.

I thought it looked cool. I just do not know if it is an older model that never saw the light of day, or if it is a new one.

This guy has done work for GW from the early days of 40k to now so I have no way of knowing.

I would hazard a guess that it might be the new one, as he is still doing work for GW on and off.. tho it might not be, seeing as Fanatic produce most (if not all) their stuff in house- I don't know how much this is the case for the new Epic.... :oo

Bob Naismith is fabulous.

The dropship looks like it's straight out of the pages of Codex Titanicus!

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Yes,

Maksim is correct, that is the same SM Drop Ship pictured in Codex Titanicus. They even gave you a cardboard counter to use in the game that looks the same.

We use GZG, Japanimae and the other limited release G/W Drop Ship, (still available at G/W US), instead of the counter.

I have 7 Drop Ships in my landing fleet including a Super Heavy from GZG (still avail.) that's almost as big as a 40K Rhino! ?

I'm almost sure this is the one Jervis just talked about in the E-A Forum.

I'll add it to my inventory (if and when it is released)... ???

Hi!

This model looks exactly like the Thunderbolt Dropship that appeared in the Codex Titanicus rulebook, first edition SM.

Its a pretty close replica of that picture.

Actually, Stormseer, I think most of their stuff is produced on a comission basis. They only have one guy who's employed full time by Fanatic for sculpting (and his name's completely left my mind.... not good as I've met him on a number of occassions.... :L  ).
A lot of the other pieces come from those already employed within GW in some way, but its technicaly out of house since its done on their free time and not as part of their 9-5 work. They also commission a lot of their paintwork out to others (including myself and Agis).

For me, it doesn't seem to fit in with the current style of minis.  I understand it may look like the old version or whatever. When I look at it though, I dont think space marine.

My friend, who used to work for G/W US, said the same thing, it looks too "old school" for the current range. ?

However, we really don't know what most of the New Stuff will look like either. So it could go either way? ??? ?

I doubt if G/W Fanatic is sure what all will be released for the Big Three (SM, IG, & Orks) with E-A... at this date, anyway... :{

I guess I am just an "Ol'school" kind of guy. I liked the way it looked and would buy the model if I could.  :D

Hi!

I find the model to be somewhat lackluster and would prefer an "upgraded" version.
