Just tried my first game of new rules Epic. First impressions?: 1. Very fast! Surprised by just how quickly the system works (could prove a popular system with the girlfriend due to games finishing at sensible time!) 2. Objectives still play a big role- like this, because it makes things tactical, not just mindless trshing things. 3. Seems quite hard to carry out close assaults (or is the lingo now "engagements"?), although they do seem quite destructive. 4. Above all, it feels very different to net Epic/ 2nd edition, so much so that I think each has elements which feel unique and advantageous. This is a good thing, IMHO. SO, whilst I am still definitely going to keep up my games of 2nd Ed/ NetEpic, definitely keen to also see how my current forces can be set up for E:A. Current problem seems to be that my troops are short on flack/ flyers. Oh, and exactly where can I find kosher lists for Feral Orks/ Chaos troops? Currently I'm struggling. And once I've located the Ferals, am I allowed to mix and match these with regular orks? Coming to think of it, what are limits regarding allies? |

Ferals are in the Swordwind supplement.  It's OOP, but downloadable on the GW site (and there's always eBay). Chaos have always been online only.  They were supposed to be on the GW website but when the SG site was shut down they weren't transferred.  I'm not sure if they were ever added, as I haven't checked in a while. Allies aren't allowed. It's too hard to balance all the potential min-maxing and cherry picking. If it's not in the list, you can't take it. That said, it's your game. As long as it's not a tournament, go for it. There's probably no harm in mixing the Feral Ork list with the basic Ork list. Speed Freeks might have some problematic combinations with the core Ork list but if you don't try to powergame it, it should be fine as well. |

I threw the Chaos lists online until the SG archive is up: http://www.tacticalwargames.net/forums....y283914 |

You can freely use a lot of models that aren't in your list using the "Counts As" rule. Say if you want to use Ghazkghull's Horde list but have a bunch of Feral Orks lying around you can just use Steam Gargants as regular (or maybe Great) Gargants, Orkeosauri as Battlefortresses and whatnot. |

Thanks folks. Cheers also for the chaos lists- they look pretty good, well written and presented. I guess on the ork lists I'll just have to mix and match to start with. |
