Yo folks, silly question and probably unnecessary too.

Are present Hellhounds one piece or multiple?

I don't think the current Specialist Games Hellhound is any different to the E40K. I have not gotten any new ones from SG but from looking at their picture I don't see any difference between them and the E40K ones I have here. Why would they make a one piece cast when everything else is always in multiple parts? Don't they use the same body, side casts for the Chimera too?

So my half baked answer would be (B)Multiple... I think.

I believe they are two-piece models, one body and one turret.

In the Epic:40k days, they would've been 4-to-5 pieces, plus an optional dozer blade: left and right side tracks, hull, turret, and cupola weapon/hatch.

Once painted, they look to be the 'same' model, but GW recast them with the hull and tracks as a single "piece" in Epic:Armageddon's release, same with anything that had the seperate tracks back-in-the-day... *including" the Super-Heavies!

One thing to note is that whomever recast the Hydra for Specialist-Games... put the tracks on backwards!

So no detachable fuel tanks? Bugger.

Dang, I didn't think about the fuel tanks... they just might be seperate pieces!

I've never seen the "new" Hellhounds, and now that I think about it, it would be darn hard to make those things "one piece" with the hull.

Can't we just ask them? eMail them Erik they should be able to let you know. After all they were very friendly when I last got in touch.

I like the idea of a Multiple model. More options for moding and interesting ideas.

I believe there used to be five different styles of tracks, five different styles of turrets, three different cupola hatches, three different "dozer blades"... and that was just for the Chimera!

Each tank/AFV had this many options!

Take a look at EpiCollector to see them all!

Yeah, I have most of these variants. It would be a shame to see that option gone. I wish they did the old SM Chimera Turret variants too (Chimerax etc). Anyone got the FW Hellhounds or Chimeras? Are they any good?

Sorry for the Hi-Jack Erik.

I got three from eBay. Turret separate, the rest moulded in one piece, including the fit pieces for track-to-body tabs... GW is the next stop.

Those are the "new" Specialist Games ones: the tracks and body are a single piece, though you can tell where the "master" was three pieces.

I thought my Chimeras were knock-offs at first, until I bought a pack from GW and they were exactly the same.  *sigh*

Including bad casting?  :sus:
I'll see what GW says about them. But how to contact them?

Click on Customer Services. There is an eMail address at the bottom. Pose the question as if you are thinking of making a possible order. They are sure to answer your query.

Fingers crossed.

The E40K version was 5+ pieces. Turret, Hatch, Hull, Left & Right Tracks, 2 Fuel Tanks. + you could add a dozer blade too, if you liked ... With mulitiple versions of each part, as already mentioned. Those E40K types are the only ones I have (beside the SM2 versions). I didn't get any E:A H/Hnds since they are basically the same ... And I have the F/W version of H/Hnds, Chimeras, and Russes. All are nice but a little smaller then the G/W versions.

Some of the recent Specialist Games EPIC casting has been *terrible*!

I would've sworn some of the things I got were recasts if I hadn't actually purchased them in a GW store

Can you post some pics, there are many expert eyes around here.  If you can wait a couple of days, I'll snap some pics of my "new" Chimeras to show you what I mean.

Got some Epic:A Hellhounds from eBay and has to ask this; are they one piece casts with separate turret today? Thanks for your e-mail and yes they are.  Thank you.
Then I must say that I'll steer well clear of SG stuff, 'cause the casting is just plain lousy.  Sorry.
