Again no Void Spinners allowed I'm afraid, this list would really suffer from a lack of mobility as well. If you want a powerful tournament list and want to use guardians go with a storm serpent and wraith construct heavy force. I got completely mashed by something along the following lines in a recent tournament. Guardian Warhost, Pts = 525 1 Farseer 4 Guardians 3 Heavy Weapons 3 Support Weapons 3 Wraithguard 3 Wraithlord Guardian Warhost, Pts = 525 1 Farseer 4 Guardians 3 Heavy Weapons 3 Support Weapons 3 Wraithguard 3 Wraithlord Guardian Warhost, Pts = 250 1 Seer Council 4 Guardians 3 Heavy Weapons 3 Support Weapons Guardian Warhost, Pts = 150 1 Farseer 7 Guardians Vampire, Pts = 200 Storm Serpent, Pts = 250 Storm Serpent, Pts = 250 Wraithgate, Pts = 50 Scorpion, Pts = 250 Falcon Troupe, Pts = 250 3 Falcons, 2 Firestorms Nightwings, Pts = 300 |

The Storm Serpents and the Wraithgate are the "APCs" of the list as they are all gateways... at least I assume that's what they'll be used for! |

I'm not sure if you are refering to my proposed list or the original list. The original list does indeed lack transports or speed of any kind in the main infantry formations apart from the windriders who will suffer from a lack of support. The storm serpents, wraithgate and vampire provide the transport for my suggested list (I say mine, but the list is actually based on a list Tiny-Tim used at open war 4 - with a few modifications to suit my own play style) |

Damnit, yes, the Ulthwe list does not allow for Void Spinners which was one of the key units I wanted to bring to this tournament. No one has seen them in action and they absolutely fear my Night Spinners. I agree, the lack of mobility is concerning to me as well. In a perfect world I'd wanted to take a Storm Serpent as well, however that is quite a few points in Engines of Vaul and I was worried that it might tip my list over the edge. Anyhow, given the news that I cannot take void spinners I'm going to revamp the list and submit a new one. ####! Adam |

Yes, I know S/Serpents, Vampire and W/Gate can transport troops an should. ?Looks like you'll be short if you want to mount up all your infantry ? ? We still use the SM1/SM2 templates and infantry's main Transport is Falcons, and W/Serpents transport Harly's or Aspects ... guess I'm just old school. ?Looks like to me you don't have enough MBTs/APCs/IFVs and with no artillery you will have to use air power (like the Tau) for ground support. ?My opinion, you are going to have a hard time going on the offensive with this army ... but what do I know ! ? :;): |
