For you UK guys, have any of you received your issue #7 yet?

I was wondering if you could tell me the stats for the Tarantula that they used in the Epic article.

Thanks

I do.  The Tarantulas are immobile, 6+ armour, no CC value, Firefight 6+ and can be armed with a Twin Heavy Bolter (30cm AP4+) or a Twin Lascannon (45cm AT4+).

I should also mention it is an Armoured Vehicle.

I think they have them armed as such to match the Forgeworld 40k ones, and so you can use the Razorback guns to make Tarantulas.

Armored vehicle?

Could you post the stat line as it shows up in the magazine? That is strange.

Thanks.

Seems odd that it is an armored vehicle when the sentinal is just a Light Vehicle. Seems like it should have been either infantry or light vehicle.  ???

I would guess that the reasoning is because it is unmanned and automatic. As I understand it, LV represents the chance of taking out the driver/operator. The Tarantula doesnt have one.

Cyber, in Epic A all Light Vehicle does is allows it to be shot at by both AP and AT fire. And yes, because of the light armour you could kill operator, knock out engine etc.

Now, I admit I have not played 40k for a small while and thus missed the FW re-release of the tarantula, but in the past it did not have a "driver" but did have a crew. Did this change somewhere?

The FW Tarantula is *now* a sentry gun in a similar vein to the sentry guns in ALIENS - Special Edition.

The original Tarantula (in 40K and Epic) had a crew of one.

But it was still robotic and could fire by itself. The operator was present to do field repairs and, if necessary, targeting override.

And no, I don't have the Fanatic #7 either. It probably arrives some 2 weeks after it's out in the UK just like #6.  :blues:

Now that makes sense. There was a clear disconect with some on the Epic site about how to handle the tarantula.

Thanks

 ... something strange is going on... this is the third time that I have posted this. Here we go again...

Hi. I am looking for a map based campaign system to use with Epic, and I wondered if anyone knew of anything in existance for the game? Ideally, I would like to generate a map, set up a number of task forces and move them around to capture strategic points on the map for control. If anyone knows the map based campaign in the back of the 4th Ed 40K rule book, I am looking for something like that.

Aside from using this as a basis, does anyone know of something in existance for EpicA, or for another game that could be transferred across to EpicA?

Thanks.
