Folks, I have come to a point I am going to compile the ideas and opinions posted on the EA board into a list and after one last pass, submit it to Jervis for comments.

As I respect you guys a lot, is there any opinions you wish to express, but may not have on the other board?

Hi Dafrca, with you at the helm it'll be good. No worries. :D

But thanks!

Hm.

How about PSI and Custodian titans? :;):

What is in the list, BTW? I guess Titans and Knights plus some grunts (skitarii) and combat servitors. Ordinatus perhaps?

Take a look at the Vault and the Titan Legions section of the SG forums Mojarn-
Its the one list I've been following with the most interest I have to say.. but everyone loves titans don't they? :D

Yup :) Though I'm quite a fan of the Knights, as well. And the Ordinatus.

Last time I checked, there were doubts about adopting a "many fixed packages" list or a "build your own titan" list. Any clue how this is going to end up?

Hi Dafrca
Had a (very) quick scally through the list (AMTL master play list), looks great (and should please the Enginseer :D ) the only thing that seems at odds is the fact that that a vet princeps is mentioned but what does he actually do?

Jusinel - good question :) I think its either Leader and/or Commander, but can't say for cetain.

And at the minute it looks like we're heading towards fixed packages, though I for one am pushing for the option to swap weapons out, ala OGBM.

Yep, at least I love them. Then again I've always been the fan of da 'eavy stuff.

There was nothing in the vault but in the forums there was a list. I'd like to add just one thing: servitors. Either as an upgrade or as a support formation. Gun and/or combat servitors.

Maybe it's just M(NS)HO but servitors are so much more in the character of AM than regular heavy weapons, for example.  :;):

Good Question.

0-1 Legate: 50 pts Supreme Commander.
Legate must be located in the most expensive Titan in the list.

Veteran Princeps: Upgrade Titan with a Veteran Princeps, 25 Pts

Tech Priest (rename ?): Upgrade Command Unit of Tech Guard Company with Tech Priest, 25 Pts

Tech Magos (rename or Drop ?): character, servo arms (base contact MW +1), fearless, leader, inspiring, supreme comander
We were looking to have a Commander and a Supreme Commander but the names and Ideas were mixed. The Veteran Princeps will be the commander, The Ligate will be come the Supreme Compander, and the Tech Priest will add some abilities to the Titans.

The list I am working on this weekend is the one that will go into the vault as Version 1 for playtesting.

They will be discribed in the unit text and in the final names of the support formation.

One of the difficult parts is that both camps feel very strong about their point of view.

I will admit I love the idea of an open system with tons of options and a "build your own" style. However, there are a few concerns I have with such a system.

First is balance, the more open the system the more likely we fail to see some broken combo. No I would hope that would come out in playtest, but the CCG market has proven that the larger the number of options (cards) the more likely playtest fails to catch a broken combo.

The second is production logistics. Many of those asking for an open ended system keep talking about the plastic "Beadle Back" WarLord. Jervis has already said that the Plastics will not come back. In fact, it was somewhat a shock to have even the plastic Marine and IG sprues at all. New Troops have all been metal. So I do not expect to see the old plastic Warlord show up.

This leaves us with the ?New? Warhound, Old Reaver, New Warlord, and the FW Versions. Four weapon mounting systems. For the sake of argument let?s say we restrict the Warhound to the four weapons now made by FW. This leaves us with the Warlord and Reaver. The Reaver can use the old metal weapons so if GW put them back into production we could have some variety there, but the Warlord? The New Warlord has shoulder mounted weapons that would not trade out easy at all and the arm mounted weapons are enough larger then the rest that the Reaver weapons would look odd. So do we make two versions of every weapon? Or three versions so the shoulder ones could be traded out too?

Of course this could be solved by a redesigned Reaver and Warlord, but with things the way they are with SG & GW I would not even hope.

What about recasting the beetle in metal? They did that for infantry, which is definitely trickier, so they could do this for the Warlord... ?
