I got an "odd game" too:

It's called "WHIRLING WINDS"

Line up two rows of building about 50cm. It should look like a street or something.

Next take an ork gunwagon for each player in the game and place them at one of the ends of the street.

Next take a Whirlwind tank for each player participating.

Now - Using a scatter die to indicate the direction and a d6 to determine the distance the players will try to get to the end of the street and blow up a gunwagon in either CC or firefight.

Take it in turns to roll how far you get.
If you hit a building you lose your next turn.

Each whirlwinds has four rockets that can be used to shoot the other players whirlwinds. You can shoot at any point during any turn. The rocket hits on 5+.

If a whirlwind is hit by rockets the owning player loses his next turn. If he had already lost his next turn the rockets have no effect.

The first player to destroy a gunwagon wins.

His gaming group used to play "Artillery golf."

What an Idea. I love it! ?

EDIT: Just had an idea, I could also set up a "Miniature Golf" version. Each hole could have some kind of silly thing they have to do. Hit the Ork Odd Boy or some such...

Too Funny!

Well Done Jaldon.

You should go post these rules in the Files section on our Yahoo Group for these kinds of Monsters.

I really didn't anticipate two pages of responses this fast, but it only goes to show ya what a good group of players post and play on the Epicomms boards (Or they are really warped, take your pick :-: )

Somewhere back there is a post about double moving. WEs can only barge when they are on an engage order, hence my opponent immediatly started putting 'sacrificial' infantry and scouts in my way so I couldn't double directly toward my objectives. (My opponent was using IG)

Also, I couldn't afford to waste an Atomic Breath Attack on them when the IG Tank Company was hammering on poor Godzilla. Last, the Double Move Atomic Breath Attack isn't all that great, and considering Godzilla was the only target on the board it collects BMs real fast.

Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla: It happened :D , second battle my opponent had a Reaver, and I set my sights on getting into CC with it. It almost cost me the battle chasing the Reaver, too soon I had to dash for the table edge.

Hey, I didn't say the scenarios are balanced, just fun. You gaotta 'game play' a bit to really enjoy this mini-campaign.

Jaldon :p

Since nobody else picked up on it, I will:

So, do you have to play the Blue Oyster Cult song while playing the games?

Hi Guys,

Diana, my girlfriend, recommended the song to me as background game for the convention game of Monster Island that I organized. I still haven't heard the tune though.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Maksim, you've got to dig up a copy, your girlfriend is right it would make the game, really make the game.

Yes, music is a part of the gaming atmosphere, low and unobtrusive, but always there.

So BOC's Godzilla is required, right after that ETI, and then R U Ready to Rock

Epic-A always starts with AC/DC's Back in Black

Car Wars, Deep Purple's Highway Star

Command Decision, Deep Purple's Hard Road Wring Your Neck followed by the sound track from the movie Patton

WH40k, Savoy Brown's Hellbound Train or Black Sabbath's War Pigs

Warmaster, Black Sabbath's Faires Wear Boots

Any of the Hack Ancient Battles, Cream's Tales of Brave Ulyssess

Napoleonics, oh Brain Fart I can't remember by who, but anyways SKY PILOT.

And whenever my Buddy Phil V. is playing, somewhere in the evening I'll put on Cream's Born Under A Bad Sign

(He rolls the absoulte worst dice in the world and the line in the song that fits is, "If it wasn't for real bad luck, I wouldn't have no luck at all.")

After that Jazz or Blues gets played low in the background.

Jaldon :oo
