Teleporting Terminators will make a real mess of Shadowswords - so will Thunderhawks with Assault Marines. Even Tacticals can make a mess of Shadowswords if they get to Engage. But Teleporting Terminators with a Chaplain are definitely my choice for hunting enemy war engines and artillery. They don't last that long sat in the middle of your opponent's army, but they almost always kill more points than they cost. Regards, Reaver |

THat unit looks like a tough nut to crack, but is not very effecient from his POV. Hes wasting a lot of short ranged fire power with those shadowswords. If you pick off the upgrades and stay at long range you should be able to quickly supress the long range fire of the shadow swords. From his point of view I would think baneblades would be a far more useful base company... Also it lacks AA so you could start laying BM that way. To add to reavers comments, you can also use SHT to block LOS, so you can attack close combat one and use it to block supporting fire from the other tanks in the company. |

(Hena @ May 24 2008,18:56) QUOTE Crossfire and Land Speeders and/or Annihilators and 4+RA becomes suddenly a lot crappier ![]() Crossfire is especially effective here with MW or Lance as it reduces the 4+ save to a 5+ save (or 3/4 chance to ~1/2 chance of saving with RA) - and taking away the RA save does the rest ![]() |

two templates hit center on, one glances the third. thats five hits. the demolishers and ogryns might get hit too. usually enough to destoy or at least supress on of the bblades. if one is destroyed, then another one is supressed. ill have to stretch my line out more but it tends to be VERY crowded in my DZ. in my oppinion the whirlwinds ar great artillery. i just got some vultures to kill them early. |

And SHT can be deployed up to 15cms apart. Barrage templates shouldn't centre on 2 of the tanks. |

(Onyx @ May 25 2008,12:49) QUOTE And SHT can be deployed up to 15cms apart. Barrage templates shouldn't centre on 2 of the tanks. Sometimes one doesn't have the luxury of being able to stretch out like that. Additionally, it makes the formation vulnerable to clipping assaults from teleporters or air attacks... so there's pros and cons to any type of deployment. |
