Not much to say really... This was posted on the SG forum in response to a thread about re-opening the US archives. Read it and weep ![]() Hi, A petition to open the archive is not going to work. Most of the old Epic molds have failed due to age and wear and have been destroyed so we no longer have Epic molds in the USA. Sean Forbes Direct Services Manager Games Workshop USA Cheers! |

Hi! Hmm...this all but assures that I will never buy from them again. The only thing GWUS had going for them was the archive. I can get things quicker and cheaper from GWUK.... ...alas I knew yea well GWUS... Primarch |

This guy Sean Forbes posted a second reply to the thread: Guys, All of the Epic 40,000 bitz are no longer available. As far as the other lines Warmaster and BFG, we simply don't have enough demand for bitz for these systems to keep selling them. Also, the rumor that we will begin selling Epic bitz is false, there are no plans to do so at this time. Sean Forbes Direct Services Manager Games Workshop USA I know I'm being overly optimistic but "at the time" does leave a tiny glimpse of hope for at least the E40k models to become available again at some point. Sad news nevertheless. Cheers! |

Hi! To be frank I always felt GW's claims of "broken" or "wasted" molds pretty hoaky. I mean if they no longer wish to sell something because it competes negatively with a newer more profitable line, then thats what they should do. But giving simplistic excuses isn't my cup of tea. I find it rather insulting. I'm a big boy and know how the real world works. I'd respect them more if they were more sincere To each their own I guess. This seems to be another "end of an era". Another thing that is no more that we will fondly recollect from here on in. Primarch |

Why were they able to sell Epic minis from the archive up til a few months ago then??! ...Did all the moulds suddenly become 'worn out' when the archive closed?! ..wtf? ![]() |

I get the feeling that GWUS simply doesnt want to deal with Epic at all any more. Very sad, and confusing, since selling stuff over the 'net is the cheapest method of doing so. And yes, I weep over the bitz that I was hoping for to do some projects.....sigh. ![]() my 2cents, iblisdrax |

Hi! Stormseer, they yanked the archive shortly before epicA was released in the UK. I find it highly improbably that ALL molds were worn out AT THE SAME TIME. I think they are so used to dealing with "kiddies" nowadays that they forget there may be some adults that may like more sophisticated answers..... Iblisdrax, its been my contention since Epic A was even being developed that support from some of the regional GW's that support would be lackluster or non-exsistant. GW has a very LONG memory of "failed" lines. GWUS got "bit" quite unfavorably with epic 40k and the loads of stock it had to "eat" after it tanked. We can all remember the great sales of 2-3 dollars blisters, which for a gamer is great, but for business it was bad. I dont think GWUS or GWAUS for that matter really got over it. Long memories. For me the "clincher" was when it became clear that the game would not be simultaneously released with the UK. Thats unheard of in the annals of epic. Learning that it would mostly be MO only and that the retailing structure for independants was not only through a separate channel but at an inferior discount only ratifies what I knew all along... ...that in the US at least epic was going to be weakly supported. I got to envy the UK though, they are getting the grade "A" service for this version of epic. Heck even Canada seems to be doing way better than GWUS as far as epic goes and its support. I just hope that UK and Canada can carry the game enough to sustain its economic viability and it will be to them and their fans that the "epic ship" will owe its keeping afloat to. Oh well, heres to GWUK and GWCAN and their success to supporting epic. The effort is appreciated. Primarch |

Hi! Dont know why they do such things. I guess they are used to issueing "flaky" reasons. Well, regardless, its a damn shame to lose that archive.... ![]() Primarch |

Hmm, if anything you'd expect GWUS to keep this stuff around, its not as if they can't afford it. |
