I was wondering. Since WEs blcok line of sight, can they be used to gain a -1 to hit to units partly hidden behind them? And can this be used by WE formations to force the enemy to shoot at only one of them. for example a super heavy tank company consisting of a baneblade and two shadowswords. The shadowswords are positioned behind the baeblade so that they are partially obscured by it. If a formation fires at them would they be forced to only shoot the baneblade (which is out of "cover") or suffer a -1 to hit? f they want to shoot all three. |

(ragnarok @ Jan. 05 2008,22:33) QUOTE I was wondering. ?Since WEs blcok line of sight, can they be used to gain a -1 to hit to units partly hidden behind them? Sounds legit... Just have to be careful that you're not obscuring target enemy models with this positioning and giving *them* cover from your rear deployed war engines! |

Yes, WEs block LoS so can be used to gain Hull Down cover mods. Technically, I think they probably can be used to force the enemy to shoot at only one of them unless they take the to-hit cover mod. That said, the first time it came up in our games, we looked at each other and said "naaah, that's silly" and ruled that WEs in the same formation can't give each other cover. |

seems odd to use other tanks in a formation as a shield... if you can why cant tanks claim cover behind other tanks. i know they cant, but to me its the line of thought it opens. other than that. its legal. but templates should have alot of fun. |
