First, the links. =========== Armocast provides a list of sources on their site from when they had the GW license: http://www.armorcast.com/warhammer40k/PaintingTips.html Pics from Armorcast’s studio are here: http://www.armorcast.com/warhammer40k/painting/ Their text list from their Inquisitor pub with the info presumably consolidated from the sources in the first link: http://www.armorcast.com/inquisitor/archive/number14/ ======= Scott Shupe's Eye of Terror page (now static) also has a link for heresy era titan banners that could help with logos and color schemes. ?I believe these are from the old Battle Titans boxed set. http://home.earthlink.net/~sshupe/EPIC/banners.html ============ From Citadel Journals: http://www2.vigyan.com/ilibrar....Legions Burning Stars/Suns of Damnation (pre/post heresy names, Tzeentch, no color scheme stated, Princeps Skylok) Silver Scythes/Festering Death (pre/post heresy, Nurgle, no colors, Princeps Bubonis) =========== There is a knight house that fell to Slaanesh during the seige of Terra and which started the Slaanesh knight daemon engines, but there seems to be no additional detail. ?Sorry, no link. =========== Also, feel free to post any links you guys think are relevant. I'll post my list that consolidates all the sources I could find once I get it formatted for text. I think we could also probably work on a list of home-grown titan legions once I get the official GW stuff up. ?I know I would be interested in what's out there. CS: ?Would you be so kind as to pin this? It also occurs to me that this might be better placed in the Background section. I'll leave it to your capable moderator hands to decide whether to move it or not. |

Hi everyone and thanks for the welcome. I play mostly Epic, BFG and BB, with respectively IG, Imperial Navy and Humans. (I guess the fate of humanity weighs heavily on me). I wrote the article, in which the fluff about the Tolkhan Forge World appeared, so it wasn?t actually so hard to remember. If you?re interested I could try and find out if the file is still somewhere on my harddisk and send it to you. The article itself was about a historical refight. Cheers I should probably also point out that english is not my native language, so bear with me. ![]() I?m from Denmark by the way. |

Hmm, let's see: Epic Firepower #3 p. 68: -Located in Segmentum Obscurus. -Arrived to Khaldun sector in the first exodus and allied with the humans there. -Annihilated with local knights two Exodite worlds when mistaking Dark Eldar attack an attack by the Exodites prompting the arrival of Riellen Craftworld 120 years later. -At present engaged in battle to liberate Khaldun sector. Notable other forces: Harbringers chapter of Adeptus Astartes. I am too lazy to type it all, so the above will have to do unless someone is more motivated than I. ![]() Oh, and there's a nice pic of Mr. Bookworm in p.67. ![]() |

There are probably quite a few people out there who don?t have the old magazine, so here is the fluff bit from the article. The rest of the stuff was basically a scenario based on rules from the old Epic system (which sucks compared to the new in my humble opinion). Hope you enjoy. LOCATION SEGMENTUM OBSCURUS QUADRANT 7FG38WL8928 HEFELL REGION Ref: 51-L46/15/9/349 KHALDUN SECTOR SUB-SECTOR 45/388-5/KS/N `TOLKHAN? DICIO ADEPTUS MECHANICUS SYSTEM DATA: 15 Primary Systems, 12 Inhabited PRINCIPLE SYSTEM: TOLKHAN O-class Forge World Terran Registry: Stellar Chart P-22-94844T-89-14A Seat of Sectorial Government Home to Legio Pallidus Mors (Pale Death) Population: 8 Billions Skitarii: 95 regiments Tolkhan is a night world that orbits a small orange dwarf star and has a single moon called Rubicante. The inhabitants of Tolkhan appear very pallid because of the reduced illumination of their weak sun, which is the reason the Titan Legion took the name Pale Death. HISTORY When settlers from Mars arrived in the Khaldun Sector some 800 years into the first exodus, they found a region torn by war. A few systems were controlled by humans that had obtained the knowledge of space flight, but not warp travel. Two systems were Eldar Exodite worlds and some systems were orkoid domains. The Titan Legion quickly allied itself with the human worlds, brought their internal strife to an end and settled on one of their planets, Tolkhan. In the following decades the Orks were hunted down and destroyed and a peace treaty was signed with the Eldar, acknowledging the borders of their worlds, Avalath and Kathlan. For many centuries this peace was preserved although it was unstable at best. The Tech-Priests of the Cult Mechanicus suspected the Eldar to harbour technological secrets such as the much coveted STC on their planets and the feudal masters of Tolkhan`s surrounding Knight Worlds had not forgotten their many wars against the arrogant aliens. Then one fateful day some 120 years ago, disaster struck. From out of nowhere Dark Eldar Pirates attacked the Mining world of Zembrie, slaughtering thousands of defenceless workers, enslaving even more and destroying what they couldn`t take with them. Before Imperial Forces could retaliate, the Dark Eldar had left, leaving behind them, a wasteland filled with piles of lacerated bodies and smouldering ruins. When the news spread to the rest of the sector, there was a public outcry, demanding instant retribution against what was wrongly regarded as a treacherous act of war from the Eldar. The Imperial response was swift and brutal, the lush world of Kathlan was virus-bombed and left a barren rock in space. On Avalath every male, female and child were butchered and dumped in city-sized massgraves. The Techno-magi now had access to immense amounts of Eldar technology and archives filled with knowledge, whose secrets it would take years to uncover and catalogue. They ordered it all to be collected, dismantled and shipped to Ilnor where the Adeptus Mechanicus Research Stations were located. The Tech-Priests even suspected that somewhere amongst this enormous amount of material, they might find and unlock the doors to the Eldar Webway and the legendary Black Library. What they didn`t know was that, prior to the invasion, a message had been send deep into space. A message destined for the Riellen Craftworld that had originally settled the two Exodite worlds. 120 years later the response to the message arrived. The Eldar of Riellen attacked the Tolkhan Sub-Sector without warning and with a series of swift and ferocious strikes, they managed to conquer some 80% of the systems in the short span of only 6 months. It was only on Tolkhan itself and Celetin that the Imperial forces managed to hold on and repel the invaders. Although the systems were well-defended they were no match against the onslaught of a whole craftworld. While the attack could be seen as simple revenge for the wanton destruction of Avalath and Kathlan, the real reason was in fact to either recapture or destroy the stolen Eldar technology in order to prevent their secrets falling into the hands of the mon-keigh. The first system that fell to the Eldars were the Explorator Base of Ilnor, much to the consternation of the Tech-Priests. PRESENT DAY 8 years have passed since the Eldar arrived and the Tolkhan Sub-Sector is now locked in a perpetual war. Imperial reinforcements have poured in from the rest of the Khaldun Sector, among them several companies of the Harbingers Space Marine Chapter and Tolkhan has begun the construction of several new Titan Battle Groups. The Eldar is concentrating on defend and hit-and-run tactics in order to buy time for their activities on Ilnor, which is still years from completion. So far the Imperium has managed to liberate 4 systems and has recently invaded the Eryx system. There have been a few attempts to liberate Ilnor, at the request of the Tech-Priests but they have all been repelled with heavy losses, as large Eldar forces are situated here. |
