Well i have to say i'm a little disapointed with the coverage epic has so far got and i haven't been expecting much. I just recieved the April edition. The Epic article it advertises on the GW website - collecting an IG army amounts to no more than 2 sides plus a scenario of sorts. I'd have hoped for a little more than that. Oh well. While i remember, i was also a little puzzled at how the valkyries and vultures were advertised. WD said they came in a blister of 4 valkyries and 2 vultures for ?10 which seems a little odd and contradicts the epic catalogue. Does snyone know exactly how they will be sold? |

Hi! I didn't expect any major coverage beyond a "showcase" type article to show what epic is. A battle report would have been nice. I would like to know too regarding the packaging of the vultures and valkyries. Its one of the few units I intend on buying. ![]() Primarch |

Yes, I don't like that I have to buy a company when I only want a platoon or single vehicle ... oh well, I'll be selling my extras ... |

What I would really like to see is a massive battlereport (say 5-6000 pt) which really shows what differentiates Epic from 40k. The introductory battle rep in issue 290 was just plain ridiculous IMO. Good thing about the price drop though ![]() Cheers! |

The White Dwarf coverage is one of the two things that depresses me the most about the release of EA (along with all of the pricing problems). The coverage received in WD has been less than E40K received on its release, and we all know how that went. WD is already critised for being little more than a GW catalogue, and these 'features' seem little more than adverts. In my opinion, they have completely missed the point and failed to draw on the things that people love about Epic, the big battles, war machines and strategy in the game. A playtest report which talks about how good the rules are (which is not the way to sell a game), a new army list (without the support of the readers) and a small article on collecting Guards dont draw on why we play it. It is a very depressing situation, and I get the impression that WD are failing to allocate the pages required for a decent battle report. Hell, if Jervis wanted a serious report, or long articles, there would be a queue of people volunteering. ![]() Worse still, I get the feeling that EA has now had its '3 months coverage' and that a new game will be in WD next time, with Epic having to wait a year. |

I agree- I have read the WD which was a welcome sight on my doormat when i got home from work last night. I flicked all the way through it looking for interesting stuff, and completely missed the Epic Armageddon article first time round because it was so short. I agree with everyone clamouring for a 4,000+ points Epic batrep. We want to see aq couple of titans/gargants, some air power and massed armour formations. That would have got so many more players hooked on the game and buying more figures. I still remember an old WD from about 12 years ago that featured the first Epic batrep- the sheer scale of the forces was part of the appeal- something you can not get in W40k. A missed sales/marketing opportunity by GW. lets hope there's a decent Epic batrep in WD before the summer WFB campaign & relaunch of W40k. If they can't fitin Epic in WD soon then they never will.... Cheers James |

Hopefully, with E:A's arrival in the US, the decadent capitalists will buy freely ![]() ![]() |

I remember buying my first issue of WD because it had an article about Battlemasters and then seeing/reading the battle report between Blood Angels and Chaos. ?In Epic scale, of course. ?Later, when my friend and I went to the game store to buy a new game he wanted me to buy Warhammer but I choose Space Marines instead and have never regretted that desision ever (ok maybe once, but that was a long time ago). According to a post by Jervis a couple of months ago (when the release schedule was posted on the E:A site) that was a typo and Valkyires + Vultures will come in a box with 4 of each. |

Look at page 114. Epic Armageddon is back in the next issue, if only in a short sounding article on Epic's future. |

But this isn't a release schedule, it's actually on the new release page at the start of the Dwarf, colour pics and all. If it's a typo that has been picked up, why has it reappeared? If I sound a bit frustrated, it's 'cause I want to get some of them too ![]() |

Hi! Guys, I have mentioned innumerable times, epic, is a fanatic game, not a mainstream GW core line game. This means poor support, poor availability and poor sales penetration. It WONT be the fans that fail epic, NOR fanatic games, as before its all on GW regional operations to push this game. If even with favorable sales they refuse to give it full support, then I think we all now what to expect. It's being marketed as a "flavor of the month" with no longevity. There's no excuse, the amount of fans out there would give them a queue of useable material for articles so long that they'd have enough for years. I have the firm belief that fanatic exsists on Jervis's good will and perseverance alone. If it were up to corporate GW, it wouldn't even exsist. Let's concentrate on buying fanatics products so stock wont pile up and more units and materials can be released. Don't depend or expect anything from GW in this regard. Epic will sink or float by the fans and fanatics support, I dont see any support from anywhere else. Primarch |

That is strange, as I was talking to a GW staff member today, and he said that all of the Epic stuff would be cleared out at the end of this month, to make do for Warmaster, which was the next focus game and would get the focus in WD as well. I seriously think that Epic will not get even the small exposure that it had the last few months. |

Hi! I really think this "rotation of specialty games" really hoses the new epic. It takes away the new games "thunder" by deviating attention to "the next new thing". It re-inforces the common conceptions that specialty games wont be around for long, nor count with real support. Geez, give the game a chance GW! Primarch |
