Hi!

As you can see the Sigfried is "anemic" in size when compared to even the old rhino (the newer one is wider). The Sigfried is basically the same size as the tractor. It looks more like an armored car than tank.

The Thudd gun/rapier is very small as well and dinky looking.

The models come with an excessive amount of flash which I cleaned to take pictures.

I will not be buying any more of these. The quantity of metal versus price is a serious "hosing".

I would recommend getting GHQ tanks with are the same size, better detailed and a lot cheaper.

If you want static artillery buy FW, they are MUCH better and chaper.

Very disappointed in these models.

HOLY ****!

I thought thee prices were pretty nuts before... but this!
I was complaining about the excessive prices on the infantry but I guess they just follow the "exchange rate" of the rest of the army.
Judging from the pic in Tuffskull's diorama the Ragnarok wouldn't be bigger than a Land Raider and certainly not even as bulky.
Proxies are the way to go for Krieg armies i'm afraid.:(

Cheers! :)

WoW !!!  That's not a Lt. Tank !  It's a Tankette !!! :o  I guess they save on metal (and $$$) by making them small ? ???  I'll be still ordering them ... one of each blister but may 2 of the FA/AAA, to get 3 guns each.  The flash bothers me too ... the E:A Rhinos and Basilisks had a lot too ...  :(  Too bad, at these prices, I'd hoped for better ... ???   Just another of life's disappointments ...

Hi!

The only model I liked was the static artillery piece, but the price doesnt make it worth the buy.

I hope they do better next time....

Based on the fluff that is what it is. Sort of like the Russian WWII Prime movers as seen in this picture:

By making the Bruennhilde that size it forced the Siegfried to be that size too because the Siegfried is just an Armored version of the same Tractor. Here is some of the Fluff they included in the list:

The Bruennhilde is one of several dozen variants of the common Land Crawler. The Land Crawler is another of the STC constructs re-discovered by Arkhan Land at the birth of the Imperium. Unlike the more famous Land Raider and Land Speeder, the Land Crawler is not a military vehicle but an agricultural one. Countless billions of Land Crawlers are used on agriworlds across the Imperium, where its' versatility, ease of maintenance, and forgiving driving characteristics make it hugely popular.

The Siegfried is another variant of the famous Land Crawler. It is produced in the huge underground factory complexes of Krieg, and was developed during the Krieg Rebellion as a replacement for the Sentinel, whose complex gyro-stabilised locomotive system and light armour were considered unsuitable for the conditions that prevailed at the time.

Now as for price, well they are costly, but so is GHQ when it comes to stuff like this. Those two tractors and two guns cost $9.00 USD. GW is charging me $10.00 USD for three Tactors and three guns (you get six guns but only three bases). Not a lot of difference cost wise.

As for the cost of the Siegfried, well I have to use pounds as it is not available here yet. GHQ sells five tanks for $9.00 USD. At the present exchange rate that is about 6 pounds. GW charges me 7 pounds for six of the Seigfrieds. Yes, more expensive.

Now, please do not get me wrong, I am not defending GW. I think they are a rip off in a lot of ways. But in this case, not much more then GHQ is bending us over.

In this case, I agree 100%. They have tried to take them back down to the old WWII Anti-tank guns that the troops manhandled. Not what I wanted nor what the Fluff called for.

Yep, that is how I feel as well.

I am posting this as a seperate post because I want there to be focus on this. The item that bothers me the most is the poor castings, errors, and excesive flash. :(

The minis I have received both from this run of the regular epic and these are all looking like something that I would expect at the end of a mini's mold life.

One of the things I always said about GW in the past was "Well they cost more but look at the detail and quality."

Well now all I can say is "Wow you are right, they cost a lot and the quality sucks." :(

Hi!

Dafrca, you can get GHQ on discounts varying from 10-20% off depending on where you look and most tank blisters (which is what I meant) bring 5 models. As you point out though the artillery packs bring less and cost more. So the difference in that regard as you point out is less. The detail on GHQ models are much better though IMO.

All in all, my point of contention is that I expected more than what I got. It unusual for me to be disappointed with epic purchases even when expensive, I usual feel happy with it.

This time I got a real bad taste in my mouth.... :(

Oh I agree 100%. That is why I posted my real gripe on the next post. I would live with the cost if I could point out the quality of what I buy.

When I eat at Arnie Morton's I pay a lot more then at McDonalds. But what I get for my money is a lot more too. If I paid Arnie prices and got a Big Mac there would be real problems.

I am going to close this post by quoting you because it says it all:

"I expected more than what I got"
