I know this has gone off on a tangent somewhat but what are the current SG Phantoms, the originals or a newer copy based off of the originals.

The Phantom (and the Reaver) are both the unaltered original sculpts.

The originals with less weapon options (possibly only one head choice too?) I believe.

How anyone with eyes and sanity thought those Epic40k Eldar Titans looked good and better than the older ones I'll never understand! They look clunky and ugly and almost orky being covered in those weird ridges, where's the sleek clean Eldar style and grace? Good candidate worst ever GWs models IMO.

I'm rather looking forward to the new FW Phantom model that will likely be forthcoming, the design sketch from years back looked ace

I agree that E40k era Eldat titans do look a bit Orky, especially if painted green. But I do like them still.

The most beautiful Eldar titans though would have to be the new EA Revenants. They are so graceful and their looks hearken back to the classic SM era Phantoms. I saw some gorgeous EA Revents painted by, IIRC, Tuffskull.

Yeah. Those revenants sure are sweet looking models. Bit of pain to assemble but nice looking.

Yes ... we are way OT ... but I didn't help by posting pics of all my Titans !  I guess I better push my E:A Revenents up in the que !     The E40K Titans are a very different "style" then the originals. However, it is a big Galaxy so some Eldar Craftworld(s) may have re-designed them ...

That's the beauty of Sci-fi ...  It's a big Galaxy and a bigger Universe !   My 6mm Sci-fi collection does or will include a number of Andriod types, Lizardmen, various humans including Slammer (ie GZG NAC) Infantry, 2 types of Space Dwarves(Squats/Khazari), etc.  Plus my terrain collection includes a number of Stargates ... So IMO, it's all good !

The idea behind that was I beleive to try out wraith'bone', put ribbing and similar on it to evoke singing wraithbone into war constructs. Still it wasn't that hot and went against the normal Eldar styling too radically. However it certainly makes me want to give it a go painting eldar as a 'skeleton' force with bone colours, would be different and might actually encourage me to use some of my Eldar horde (I have no idea why I have an eldar horde considering I never liked them and only have a painted army due to a painting frenzy for a month 15+ years ago - the yellow and blue chaps of course).

I agree 100% with this.

And btw, if the current Reaver isnt really the old model but has been re-done (with new molds), doesnt that tell you that when they say "we cant cast this or that because the molds/master sculpts etc have been lost" is incorrect - they could if they wanted to make all new molds based on old minis (re-casts basically)? Too bad they wont do that, Id actually start buying from them again...
