To resurect this thread; have you seen this minis ? from right to left : drop-pod, vindicator, hunter, and what really seems like an Epic replica of the ForgeWorld Hyperios to me...
pics on Jimbo page
So maybe we'll see this model for the hunter, or whatever will be called the AA SM tank in the end ?

Yes, I'm sure everything we see there we'll see eventually. And everything Forge World does in 40K scale will appear in Epic scale. And as usual, there will be much redundancy between G/W and F/W ... If Jervis and Tony talk, it's not about Epic ... maybe about Brittany and Madonna, but not the fact that F/W makes a Salamander so G/W must make their own version (!), etc., etc., etc. ...

Whirlwind Hyperios looks one hell better then SM Hunter, I think. I am really dis-pleased with the way Hunter looks. It looked more like a Rhino Garbage Truck then anything else.
The pic on Jimbo's page has EA Whirlwind there. Stick 2 WW launchers together and you have a half-decent Epic Hyperios.

It's somewhere between the old ones and the Forgeworld, though I'm not sure if it has the appeal of either.

I reckon it would look a lot better without the head gun. It looks like the poor thing's choking

Hi!
Got to agree with Jimbo and others...bad model. I hope they gather some input and change the design.
What was wrong with the wolf head warhound? It is a nice elegant model, this remnd me of the new eldar phantom, another poorly thought model.
I agree it does have some "eldarish" features.
I have liked all the new models I have seen up until now....
...its horrible.

I'll buy one, but it looks like the artist was trying "meld" a lot of styles into one. ? A Tau and Imperial alliance - well that might be one way to stop Chaos and the Orks and don't forget about the 'Nids and Necron ! ?The Eldar might want to joint the Imp.-Tau Axis and all 3 take on the rest. ?But it would be interesting to see the Eldar and Tau go at it ... high-tech vs. high tech !

It's somewhere between the old ones and the Forgeworld, though I'm not sure if it has the appeal of either. | There are bits that I'm liking, but others that I realy dont like at al on this model from what I can see. It is a WIP, so hopefully there's time for adjustments.
I was never a fan of the original style warhound and much prefferred the FW style.
Stuff I like: I like the carapace alot on this figure, although it does look to be a little covered with the eagle to make Legion colours plausable, especially half / quarter designs which would naturally be split down the center. That can be got around though.
I think the legs are a big improvement on the previous metal version, and REALY like the Imperial eagle on the left shin.
Bad stuff: Why did he have to cover it in those blasted purity seals?? I Hate them in epic! Those things must have a 10ft / 3 meter+ diameter, and yet he's still sculpted them to try and look like wax!?!
The plasma blastgun (?) is looking a bit didgey, but its hard to see.
The Feet - Bleugh...... Slaaneshi Hooves....
The head I think is a VAST improvement on the old etal one, which was simply too cartoony for my liking in an Imperial force. However, I would agree that it needs to loose the gun, it looks like its choking on it (call the RSPCA!)
Hmmmm.....Ooops....a mini review just happened and I havent even seenthe mini in person... I must go to work!

Let's see. I like: -The carapace -The legs
I don't like: -The head. I would like it if it didn't have the gun. To me it looks like it is sticking its tongue out. -The midsection. Looks like someone took a hammer and bashed a few plates together. -The hooves. Hooves? I thought it was WarHOUND, not WarMULE. -The purity seals, there's too much of them. -The Gatling Blaster or whatever it is looks far too Orky.
I agree with Primarch in that the original warhound looked the best. Then again, so did the original Warlord and Reaver.

Never a truer word spoken. Ive not been that impressed with any of the new titans, neither Imperial nor Elder. They both have lost their origanal look and feel completely. On the other hand I do like the Mk5 Great Gargant model. A great improvement on the Mk4, which although not without its charm didnt look like it would realy be able to walk. Though the Mk5 is ?let down with a lack of inter-changeable weapons. As are all the newer titan models.
As for the new Warhound Titan model... well isnt it a bit of a backwards step? The last Warhound model to be released had shed its Gothic look for a more "BattleTec" look. This new verson seems to trying to recapture the origanal Warhound look... and not doing a great job at it either. Im all for change.. change is good and lets face it if they didnt make new models for Epic we'd all get a little fed up. Seems there may well be this same sort of discussion going on at the Forgeworld, as it seems they cant discide on what the Imperial look and Elder look should be either.
