EPIC: GODMACHINES - Waaagh! on Achilles-Quag
EPIC: ATLAS
EPIC: RAGNARÖK

Still think an attack on an actual Forge World would be better than only an Agri World. An Agri World might be hightech but would certainly have only one or two population centres where all the foodstuff, etc will be transported off-world.

I'm liking Epic: God-Machines. Short, snappy. In two words it summarises exactly what the supplement is really about, and fits both the Titans and Gargants.

Set it on a Forgeworld, and the Titans get lost in the scale of the conflict. The Legio Destructor is the largest Titan Legion, and they have "Over 100 Titans". That would be basically irrelevant for a conflict set on a Forgeworld.

Also, a conflict set on a Forgeworld would only last weeks, or even days, not years. There would be so many Skitarii present that the war would be over almost before it began, one way or another.

Then a Hive World or Civilized World. Something with a significant population and tech-level. Look at Armageddon. The 3rd War runs for several years and still isn't over the time Abbadon hits the Imperium with his 13th Black Crusade.

Doesn't have to be such an importand Hive World as Armageddon so troops involved wouldn't be as much so that a Titan Legio would have significant impact.

Something like this:
http://warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Baraspine

The system could lie in the way of the Ork Waaagh! and would threaten a Forge World if it would move on. Time to stop it there and the reason the Mechanicum orders both Titans and Skitarii to destroy the Waaagh!

If it's a civilised world or hive world, the Skitarii wouldn't be sent. Skitarii generally only defend Mechanicus interests or deployments.

In order for the Mechanicus to take a front seat to the wider Imperium, it should be a world of direct and vital interest to a Forgeworld, such as a resource planet that feeds 30% of their workforce...

As i said the attacked system could lie on the direct path of the Forge World. If it is conquered by the Orks then their next target would be the Forge World itself. Fight on the Forge World would result in destruction of precious Mechanicum installments so defeating the Orks on another world before theys reach more vital systems would benefit the Mechanicum.

Would fit the nature of the Wh40k universe. The Mechanicum sacrifices a world which doesn't harm Mechanicum worlds if the war results in to much destruction.
Actually the Salamanders could be there not only to protect the imperial population from the Orks but also from to much carelessness of the Mechanicum :)

Something Chroma and I cooked up off-board was that the Ork attack could have a specific purpose (Attack a specific world to gain resources to build Gargants), rather than being a largely directionless WAAAAGH!

Edited my posting above.

So something like Kastorel-Novem but in reverse? Ork Warboss sends a subordinary to raid a planet for specific ressources to bolster his Waaagh! ?
Still an Agri World seems to few (not low) tech to me to plunder for material for Gargants.

An entire world dedicated to intensive growing of nutrients, processing them in industrial refineries, and shipping them offworld via starports?

Plenty of tech to plunder.

It will also be highly localised tech. in installations and outposts, not widespread. So the war can have discrete areas of importance.

So this Agri World would have one single continent spanning city with a massive spaceport and the rest would be endless fields of crops?

See, now I want to make a suppliment about tyranids invading a hive world, just so I can use the pun-title Epic: Hive.

BL:

More like lots of crop fields, with widely spaced industrial outposts for processing of the nutrients.

Also, a couple of very small hives (say, only 5 million workers in each), near to a couple of spaceports, where final processing on the nutrients is done before they are shipped offworld.

Zombo:

Sounds cool!

I think EPIC-GOD MACHINES will probably be it, even though it does break from the one word titles that have been used so far.

I think the problem isn't that there isn't enough tech on an agriworld; it's that there's more tech elsewhere, so why would the orks choose the agriworld over a hive or forgeworld?
