Overdue update: Having received my set of trilogy books, I'm going to hammer away a lot of work on this on the weekeend, I'll send that out to the 'internal review team' then I'll get a new draft release for you all which will contain a more or less finalized generic legion list, and the first four other legion lists (salamanders, deathguard, iron warriors, world eaters).

Trickiest part right now is creating rules that work neatly for castellum strongholds, trying out a speed zero war engine transport type of deal.

Beautiful books but those metal corners are lethal on wood shelves.

Yeah I had book one, sold it, got the limited box thing. Does not fit in my bookcase. Weighs a lot.

Wonderful books but as you say heavy.

Castellum stronghold rules cool, now all we need is a model. I have been considering making a scratch build and then casting up a set for myself sometime. Tricky but i think i can do it. I already have the dimensions worked out just need to tackle actual construction.

The one i planned to build has a base size of 15cm's square which is as close to scale as i could work out from the FW model and this size would also take the standard epic base sizes on the walls no problem whilst retaining the right look.

I considered making a five piece model, four corner sections (modular) held together somehow by the inner floor.

I am belatedly acquiring FW Hoirus Heresy Book One: Betrayal.

Not sure yet what Legion I want to depict. Ideally like like to do one eventually in both 28mm and 6mm scale.
I will have a closer look through this playtest pack once have had a chance to properly read Betrayal.
