I am working on making several terrain sets with a veiw towards starting up a series of small Epic tournaments and multisystem gaming events in Western Australia.

I started work with a Tau Jungle Outpost.  Everything is still a WIP at the moment and any advice or ideas for detailing would be really appreciated.

I started off by basing a heap of fish tank plants on washers.  Eventually I am planning on wrapping these in gladwrap so I can spray and paint their bases.

These are two WIP terrain peices that will represent the Tau Jungle Outpost as well as three objective markers that I will be using for my Tau army.  I would love any ideas for detailing these peices.

Here is an example of a terrain set up using the set (actually its set up for me to play my first game with the Tau tonight vs Kim's Eldar).

And on a different topic some Choas objectives I made today.  Not sure if I like them at all but they may look OK when painted.  I am thinking of making up some hirst arts chaos alters instead.

Hmmm... Are those Peach seeds (or whatever they're called in english :p) They could make awsome Mycetic spore marker or Tyranids as well :;):

They are from Quandongs.  Good Australian aboriginal bush tucker.  I gave one to an American professer I was working with once and one of the guys jokingly told him that they make you halucinate for a couple of days which kind of worried him  :D  they make a good jam too.... and don't worry they don't have halucinagenic properties.

Or perhaps they do, hence the chaos terrain!

Its proving to be fun to game on (just about to start turn three of our first game on it - will type up a battle report with pics when I get a chance).  Its a nice change from always playing on ruined imperial cities.

I wouldn't detail them much at all, Tau stuff looks clean and tidy.  I'd just paint 'em and plaster them with Tau decals.

Excellent ideas too.....I all of a sudden feel the need for another visit to the craft shop. :D

Wow ! Very, very, nice work !  Great concept !  And let us know how the Tau fare against the Eldar ... the two most hi-tech forces in Epic. I always thought that would be a good match ... and now on some great terrain !  Look forward to seeing the completed project !  :D

I have applied some paint to the Tau Outpost, after giving it a coating of spack filler and then sanding them back.

I am fairly happy with the results.

I have started work on some imperial villages as well as two big imperial cityfight boards

These are great, Mark!  It must have taken a very steady hand and precise cutting to get those Tau structures out of those globes... :confuse:

Great work, I look forward to seeing your next terrain projects! :)
