I've been poking away for a while trying to create some non-ruined Epic buildings. I've taken the ruined building sprues from Epic 40k and chopped them up and built whole facades. Then I cast them and now I have turned out the first few casts.

Go ahead, have a look.

Very cool indeed.  You don't see many non-ruined Imperial cities these days.

Great idea! What are you going to use as roofs?

Very nice ! Could we hope to see a tutorial to learn how to use casting plastic ? I'd like to do the same thing but I don't know if it's a big challenge ?

Ciao
Nico

Ok. For roofs I'm going to use heavy card stock or plastic sheets. I've built a small lip or ledge in the inside of the top of each section. You just measure out what size building you are making and cut the appropriate size of room. When they are all lined up, the ledge lets you just pop in the roof. Once the roof is on, I plan on adding a bigger lip on the edge of the roof (gota give those infantry stands some cover). Oh, and the buildings are just the right size for Epic strip bases too. The small building and the tall building both fit one base across, while the longer two-story building holds two across. Eventually I'll have some painted examples and the roof detail will be more apparent.

As for casting, I'll have to say that its way easier than you think if you haven't tried it. At least in my limited experience. The process is simple. Rahter than try to explain it all just check out this page. Specifically, you want to check out the RTV rubber molds and epoxy plastic casting.

Did I miss anything?
