My wife has gotten interested in producing Epic scale terrain.  Basically, she got inspired by photos of other people's work that I showed her (love the goo). That, and she's trying to find a way to avoid becoming a "miniatures widow" by becoming involved in some aspect of the hobby.  She's really very creative, and has some excellent ideas.  Last night, she decided that we should start making terrain after the kids were put to bed.  We reviewed all the modelling materials we have squirelled away, including my ruins from the E40K boxed set.  Sadly, we couldn't find either of the balsa wood planks we were going to use as bases.  That prevented us from starting on the river sections that I wanted to do first.  Instead I started making a bridge and she has sculpted a model we're calling the Old Ork 'o ta Mountin.  See my brand new 2006 Terrain Gallery for more photos, but here are some highlights.

Note the Leman Russ on the bridge to get a sense of it's scale.

Becca was able to get in some more time to work on some terrain, so she started working on river sections. ?Here's the initial results of her work; the girl woke up before she could get very far, but it already looks awesome.

The rivers aren't felt... they're some thin foam material used by kids to make picture frames or refrigerator magnets. ?A local craft store had them in 8.5"x11" sheets.

The OOotM is made from a self-hardening modeling clay.
