There are Javis and Woodland scenics mats which I had vague plans of using on a tiled board, mainly because on that case I figured paper would be easier to attach. But I have no idea if they would be hard wearing (I doubt it). I have the cloth citadel mat myself, it is really very good (if a little too "green" for a modern board). It's lasted me many years and still looks brand new. I'm pretty sure they actually made two versions, one was on paper, so watch out if buying on ebay.
Antenocitis Workshop used to do a "Mat 'o war" that was similar ISTR, looked good quality.
BUT if it's green you want, you might want to consider artificial grass... I have seen low pile height options (e.g. 3mm or even less) which could well work. A quick search:
