Hey there guys, I am in the process of making my 6mm terrain table for use in multiple game systems. I have it pretty well documented the build so far on my blog, but wanted to share it here as well. I would also welcome some comments which I am sure people will have.

The basic idea of the table is to build 12" x 12" tiles so I can have multiple layouts in the future. So I started with a 4' x 4' layout. This main section of the table will be building ruins. I happened to have won several well priced auction for "New on Sprue" Epic Ruins.

I was hoping to get some of the OOP Forge World road sections but they don't show up often on eBay and when they do I'm not paying that much. So I just build my own from Plasticard.

In the future I will be adding some ruined terrain with some organic inspiration in the future. Thats it for now but keep watching as I work a little every night on this.

good call on the roads. I'm doing the same for exactly that reason

Another option that has good bang for the buck is the road system from Game Craft

Thanks guys, and steal away on ideas here.

Managed to score a few more ruins and continuing to add as I go. A post will be up on my blog in a few days about it but for now here's a sneak peak.

I have a whole bag of chopped up sprue somewhere in my hobby room just for this project. Once I find it I can start adding rubble to get an idea. I also found an old piping kit that I will use later on to make a pumping station.

This project will be moving slowly as my wife and I decided to remodel our living room at the begining of summer. So I got several large projects going at the moment.

Great start. Toys and projects tend to get bigger with age. Hope you get them all done!

No desire for curved roads to break up fire corridors?

I thought about that but for right now nope. I might break some of it up with some road clutter and barricades in the future on a few road tiles. I would love to make a resin set of the tiles but just don't have the time to set up my casting equipment right now. Maybe in the future I will but for now, this is giving me plenty to work on.

Not much done on the table but there is some good news. I found the rubble sprue that I talked about earlier and there was some nice weather which meant that I was able to get out and spray texture paint onto the boards.

Not the best picture but you can see that the roads taped off and the difference in the colors.

All done and laid the roads out to see how it looks. Highlights will come next to bring out the textured paint.

And there has been progress on the living room during this which has affected work on the table.

The board looks like it is going to be great once it has some paint on it.
