Hi guys,

Having hopefully some 6mm Quar turn up in the post when it arrives.....

I have started to put together a 6mm trench system, Not built a tabletop board like this before so
its a bit hit and miss with materials etc, trial and error !

Got some of those foam boards but did not purchase one of those those cutters as i dont plan on using
much foam so it would be an expense for little use, So set about the boards with a GW saw and
stanley blade instead ;D

Added some brown earth scenics paint, and some large matchsticks to the front of the trenches
walls, then cut out some artillery blast holes and added brown fine gravel to represent the surface soil and the backfill from the trenches, then added green flock,

Still more boards/tiles to do but just wanted to see how a couple would turn out before going ahead and doing the rest! will also add some ladders, maybe some floor boards and a few little extras like bunkers, command posts etc.

Also im going to sculpt some sand bag postions and a holding area for the the Quars tracked tanks.

Regards epic

I'm impressed by how neatly that was cut using blades, i'd have made a right mess of it.

Outside of the special cutters i've sliced it with a bit of stiff wire heated in a fire and with a variable temperature soldering iron. Soldering iron is only good for roughly melting out larger craters and needs to be done in a well ventilated area!

Cheers Guys, yes Apoc its hit and miss using the blades but i have been pretty lucky so far and the foam seems to be cutting really well, probably just jinxed myself now ;D Yes fumes was another reason why im happy i did not bother to get the hot cutters!

The gravel covers any drama areas pretty well if a bad cut was made, just hope the size of the trenches suits the minatures when they arive and the bases!
