I have been ask several times by friends to do a epic building Tutorial.
So here goes my first attempt at it!
First lets start with the building in question.
PS. I will do a paint up in a later topic, will try to link it to this one later.

I will have to do this in several post because I Cannot add another attachment, 3 is the maximum.
if any one knows how to post more at one time, I would love to know.

as to how to post pictures. what i do, is go to www.photobucket.com and create an account, at which point you can upload pics to there, and via the [img] tags on this forum, show the pictures here at full size as many per page as you feel like

Second part of the Tutorial.

First you need the second Ed buildings from the Epic 40k starter set.
You will need the roof tops of the first epic starter set. if you do not have them ebay is a good bet.

First you need to get rid of the pegs on the under side of the roof.
next you have to measure out each part of how much building you need for each section,
and mark with pen or knife.

Cut the base with clippers were you have marked your measurements.

Third part of the Tutorial.

once you have cut the base it is easier to score the building for cutting.

cut off tabs.

To make new building corners, use plasticard tubes that are solid in the middle or if you
have the flat spru as seen in the second photo from the top, that is a cheaper method and still looks good.
Also when you go back and cut nicks in it for ware and tear it looks even better.

Forth part of the Tutorial

Attach the plasticard to the peace you have cut out.

Start attaching building corners that you have cut out. to form the walls, "super glue together."
(you do know how to use super glue ? right ... don't you?)( you should know this!

)

Use super glue to put the roof on your walls that you have made.

Fifth part and final part of the Make a Gothic building with battle damage Tutorial.

You can add plastic card if you like, so that the building looks like there are floors through the damaged building.
the middle of the inter wall has a lip that runs the length of the walls! this is were you can attach plastic card for
the floor.

If you use the ruin building walls so that there are some broken areas, you can cut in to the roof to add to the damage.
I like to use a rounded edge blade to cut out this bit, its easier to control. you can see the blade in the second photo of the first part of the Tutorial.

Finally done building, and ready to be painted! But that will be anther day and anther post!

I love to make terrain for my battle field. and I will be doing a lot more of these Tutorials so keep your
eye out for them.

I have actually done something similar, making factory buildings for an industrial complex. Will post pics soon when Summer vacation is over

Oh yes good Point Oberst Lynild

I got the ruin building spru in the 2nd Ed. of Epic 40k game.
and the Roof tops from the Space Marine game (which is really just Epic 1st Ed.,
see photos...)
but these are still available on ebay , from time to time.

True, I had thought it was meant as sarcasm!
but say you are new to Epic 40k universe and you have not grown up playing all the
Epic Space Marine - Epic 40k, and Adeptus Titanicus - games,
and just started with Epic Armageddon. You might what to know!
Or maybe I am taking this whole making a Tutorial thing to serious !

Yeah sarcasm is an old buddy of me, can't seem to shake him ::)

I have a pile of the old roofs (and the newer ones), but we've used up all of our ruins at the club. Luckily enough, someone had the foresight to dump a set in rubber, so I just have to get off my arse and order some resin (which is expensive enough on its own).

And yeah, it's bordering illegal, but stuff's oop and it's for private use only, blablabla
