Hi Guys

As the title says i am looking into using this stuff, Its sticks very well to plasterboard as i have tiled
bathrooms in the past :)

However any folks on here used it to surface lay on that foam modeling board ? Reason i ask
is i have never used the foam base boards before i.e the thick blue stuff you see on the web
and have just ordered some to build a trench system.

What info im after is will it react with the foam, how durable is it in transit once dry ?

any advice would be much appreciated ;) , regards epic

In the early days of making gaming tables I experimented with it. I recommend not to use it. Once dry it will be too brittle , crack and chip easily. Even mixing pva in with it came up with similar results. If you want a hard wearing board, i wouldn't bother with this type of finish.

Cheers Psypher, Much appreciated for the advice, dont think i will bother will stick to pva and sand/small
stones etc. Glad i posted this as i have a large bucket of the stuff left over and would of slapped it on the foam ??? Had a feeling it may be to brittle.

Cheers for the heads up mate much appreciated ;)

No worries mate, nothing worse than finishing a board then finding out that the surface just breaks off...been there before :)

I would suggest roughing up the foam a little, mix pva with sand etc and/or some textured paint. Makes a good base to build up from. You can even add a little plaster in with pva for some extra texture.
