I found a cool online tool and gave it a try. Tinkercad Here is the result: ![]() This was just a test, so not Frosted Ultra Detail, just simple WSF over Shapeways. But it is fun and I will make more. A friend of mine also did something really cool. Will create a separate topic for it later. |

Nice! For WSF, that looks like it came out really nicely. |

Attachment: Started painting the prototype I printed. It is White Strong and Flexible if I remember well. No problem here as it looks like concrete. The master will be printed as Frosted Ultra Detail. |

Leaxe, Thanks for the TinkerCAD hint. The guys @ Wings of War are well used to Shapeways models. I'm not sure if this topic can help, but this guy used a glossy lacquer which in my opinion eliminates the "grainy" finnish of the shapeway's low cost plastic, you'll end up with a smooth surface. As for the glossy effect I think a matt varnish in the end will eliminate it. Here's the link: http://www.wingsofwar.org/forums/showth ... New-Finish |

Thanks! I already have the frosted ultra detail version and will ask someone to cast them in resin. |

Some forumware is well pitted and this could improve them too, if it does not obscure too much detail... I am now seriously contemplating doing my own designs directly for printing. |

Back in town. Not much done, just a wash. Added a warhound for size comparison. Oh, yes, and crumbling floors on the inside. Will do the colour this week for sure. I do not like my buildings grey. Attachment:

really nice. be interested to see how the surface takes painting? loks like the texture effect you could get would look pretty damn nice with theat material |

The rough texture looks good, but is sucked in a lot of the grey paint. The end product will be much smoother as only with the higher resolution do the details come out better. (Frosted Ultra Detail) First test shipment of already cast building parts should arrive end of next week. Stay tuned... |

just out of interest and if you have any pieces not painted yet from the white material, would a thin coat of watered down pva seal it and save on some paint while retaining the texture? |
