This is a log tracking the construction of some big terrain for the Siege of Terra mega-battle on the 30th, see here: http://www.taccmd.tacticalwargames.net/ ... 88&t=26374

Anyone working on terrain for this event who wants to post pics is welcome to contribute to this thread.

The main areas i'll be working on are the front of the palace building and a spaceport. To give an idea of scale i'm looking to cover most of a table with spaceport. This won't be as detailed as past terrain i've built, at the start at least i'm looking to build big and quickly (and cheaply …)!

The palace building will be about a meter long, ~20cm tall to the battlements, ~40cm tall to the towers. This will be protected by my fortress walls from a couple of years ago.

This evening i'm going to block out some shapes and part combos for the spaceport, see what goes with what …

Tomorrow i plan to start sticking some of the small detail bits to some of the massive lump bits and get some paint flowing :spin

er … ye … sure … it's all done as long as we can agree i don't need to show any pictures of it for ten days ;)

In other news, i'm currently glueing small red beads onto pizza tables. I was planning to complete the large towers today but real life impinged on hobby time unexpectedly and papering the inside of the pots is taking longer than expected :sos

also just realised the two cans of army painter grey spray i used were noticeably different colours ::)

situation at the end of today as follows, think ill need to knock the weathering back a lot as the contrast is too great, but very poor light to tell:

I think the weathering looks great, you could get away with an even heavier amount IMO

slow progress, I'm just starting on some of the banners with dinner, as i'm a bit fed up with painting grey!

In all seriousness, this should start to come together a bit more tomorrow – most of the spaceport work is glueing junk together and basing it grey, once i get onto weathering, detailing and finishing parts tomorrow there will be more interesting pictures :spin
