Hi guys, I missed out on picking up one of the Citadel battle mats just before they got pulled by GW - anyone know/recommend any suitable alternatives? Space is a premium for me, so one of the things that appealed was the ability to fold it up and it not take up loads of space between games. Cheers in advance Reedar |

They fold nicely, though you are supposed to roll them. Which is an efficient state to store and transport them. |

I'm a bit behind the times it seems, why did GW pull the mat? to stop it competing with the plastic board thing? |

I think someone in marketing looked at it and nearly had a stroke at the fact that there weren't nearly enough skulls on it.... |

Yep, I've had good use from mine, much better than the rolls of grass-on-brown-paper type stuff i had before, was a genuinely good GW product ![]() |

Hmm... must have missed that era. What does one of these battle mats look like? I'm guessing its not the bright green grass mat that I got from GW couple of years ago and never used it as the green grass made a mess each time I used it. Now sitting in my garage that occasionally spill a hand full of green grass onto the floor whenever I poke it wondering what it is. |

Well, I'd reached the stage where I was going to source one of these on evil-bay, and was happy* to pay £35-40. Which is what I would have been willing to pay retail for this, as it is pretty cheap in my eyes. Then I chanced by my local GW store and popped in on the off chance to see if they had one. They didn't, but the guy running the place helpfully offered to see if he could track down any in his region and get it delivered to the store for me. I didn't expect anything tbh, but then 5 days later I get a call to say he's sourced one and its ready for me to collect. Good customer service and I paid half the price that I would have spent on eBay. Win-win! *ok, prepared.... |
