Post subject:  Splitting trenches

I have finally finished painting my Cadians so it is time to build some trenches.

I can deploy 500mm of trenches, which can hold up to 12 units (1 unit per 40mm), enough for one of my companies with some support.

Obviously, just one line of 500mm is quite unpractical, but making 12 individual trenches is a pain, so... what´s the best set I can get??

2x250mm (deployed in 2 lines deep)??
3x160mm (deployed in 3 lines deep)??
3x160mm, open "V" shaped, deployed like this:

_________0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0______0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
________0______________________________0
_______0_______________0 0_______________0
______0______________0_____0______________0
_____0_____________0_________0_____________0

I did mine in 10cm long segments, which I can place as I wish, normally in lines that support each other.

Idealy you want to create a engagement area in the centre with overlaping fields of fire that can merge in the centre of that EA. The diagram you have above should be inverted to create the EA. Depth should always support the front row of trenches with weapon ranges that exceed the front row, however; merge to augment the front rows engagement area. I can highly recommend E&Cs trenches and you can see what I have done with them in my terrain log post. Have fun, I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Cheers
